How to Plan an Exciting Minecraft Party

 HowToPlanAnExcitingMinecraftParty

If you have a Minecraft lover on your hands and are trying to create an exciting Minecraft birthday party he or she will love, grab a notepad and pencil. I’m sharing ideas you can build upon for invitations, party decorations, favours and even cool cake and sweets table options.

Invitations set the tone for your event. Minecraft themed invitations come in both store bought and printable options, or better yet—make your own!  Consider incorporating the classic “Creeper” look by gluing black and green squares of paper in the appropriate pattern.  Party details can be printed or hand-written on the back.  Looking for a different idea?  Make a scroll invitation, roll it up and attach it to some edible candy “gems” or “jewels”.

Decorations for a Minecraft party don’t have to be expensive or complex!  Keep things simple by sticking to the square “pixelated” look of the game.  Square party bunting and banners can be made from colored cardstock.  Creeper details can be added using black electrical tape or vinyl, or can even be made from smaller cardstock squares.  Carry this square inspiration to your party tables with square plates and block shaped centrepieces.  Add in some variety to your décor by considering game elements.  Incorporating grass, rocks and dirt will help the theme come alive.  These can be represented through printed wrapping paper, tablecloths and even faux materials, if the real stuff isn’t readily available or practical.  Of course, keeping the party to the classic Minecraftcolors of black, shades of green and brown will help give a cohesive look to the party space.

Cake and sweet treats are a birthday party staple, but not just any cake or cupcakes will do for a Minecraft birthday party!  Apply the square look and Minecraft inspired game elements to your sweets table too!  How about a “Creeper” cake made from fondant squares?  In lieu of cupcakes, serve up layered cake “dirt cups”.  Candy rocks, pretzel “sticks”, edible gems (coloured candies to match various gems/jewels from the game), and Creeper juice will all liven up the dessert table.  Adding creative printable labels with creative names can help transform everyday snacks and treats into memorable Minecraft “munchies”.

Party favours are always appreciated by guests and provide a nice way to thank them for taking time to celebrate.  Appropriate Minecraft birthday party favours could include green Creeper inspired favour bags (think black square face on green bag) for guests to fill with sweet treats.  Or, how about providing materials for guests to make their own pick axe or creeper masks.  Recycled cardboard and some craft paper and glue would work well for this.  Other ideas could include colouring pages or a Minecraft inspired craft kit.

Minecraft will continue to be a popular birthday party theme for a long time coming.  Using some of the ideas I’ve shared will help you to build an amazing Minecraft Birthday party your guest of honour will really dig!
