Hi! I’m Elizabeth, and welcome to FrugalMomEh.com
Here, you will find all sorts of good stuff – from delicious recipes to brilliant DIY & Craft projects for all levels, and of course great parenting and frugal living advice!
I grew up baking bread with my grandmother, watching my dad cook chili, and my mom experimenting with new recipes. I’ve always had an interest in cooking and baking – and I am so thrilled to share my love of food with all of you.
I grew up eating a very English diet – Sunday roasts and a lot of meat and potatoes kind of meals, but there was also a lot of new flavours my mom would try from Saffron soup to Sweet and Sour Spareribs. My husband is also Jamaican so over the last 10 years I have been on a culinary journey learning how to cook authentic Jamaican food with him.
I am totally mom-taught/grandma-taught and have no formal culinary training, unless you count learning how to roll hotdogs in crescent dough in grade 7 home economics. I test most of my recipes at least once, but most are tried and trued family favourites. I don’t claim to be a chef or culinary goddess, I’m just a girl who loves food and cooking.
I live in Hamilton, Ontario with my husband and our girls. I was a successful IT professional before finding out that I was truly in love with being a stay-at-home mom and professional Canadian blogger. I have been in love with blogging since July of 2012. If you look back to the first posts you can really see how far this blog has come and it makes me excited for the future as I continue to grow and evolve.
