Button Tree Nursery Art Tutorial

Button Tree Art

Decorating your nursery can be expensive, especially when you want a custom look.  I’ve been able to decorate my daughters nursery for almost nothing by creating my own pieces for her room.

She had a “Cute As A Button” Baby Shower theme so I had some buttons that were used as part of the decor that I was going to use in her scrapbook.  I decided an art piece that would grow with her would be a better use of these mementos and I thought a button tree would be super cute.

The best part about this project is that it is so cheap and easy and doesn’t really require any artistic skill yet it can easily be adapted to suit the colour scheme in any nursery!

What You Need:

Acrylic Paint
Paint Brushes
Canvas
Buttons
Crazy Glue

Start by creating a pattern with the paint.  I did a bit of a swirl emanating from the center using blues, pinks, purples and white.  It is easy with acrylic paint to build colours on one another or to blend together directly on the canvas.

Once the background is dry you can paint your tree.  I painted mine free-hand but if you aren’t artistic consider searching for tree branches online and print one that you like to trace onto your canvas then paint.

Next use crazy glue to attach the buttons to the painted tree to make it look like blossoms on the tree.  Ta-da!  Cute awesomeness for your nursery or wherever!
