This Pesto Stovetop Mac and Cheese is a super easy gourmet meal idea!
Pesto Stovetop Mac and Cheese
Ingredients:
16 oz of farfalle or other noodles
2 C. shredded cheddar cheese
3/4 C. fresh parmesan cheese, grated
1 1/2 C. milk
2 tbs. flour
1/4 C. butter
1/3 C. pesto
salt & pepper to taste
Directions:
Cook the pasta according to package directions, about 9-11 minutes on a roll boiling. Remove from heat and drain.
In a large saucepan, melt the butter with the milk and add in the 2 tablespoons of flour. Cook on medium/high heat for 8-10 minutes or until the sauce starts to thicken.
Add in the cheeses and stir until melted.
Stir in the pesto and noodles.
Add salt & pepper to taste
*Makes approximately 5-6 servings

LOVED this twist on mac and cheese. This recipe has the perfect ratio of noodles to sauce. The sauce was flavorful without being overwhelming. Definitely will be making this again– thank you!
