This Baked Feta Pasta with Cherry Tomatoes recipe is inspired by the TikTok famous cherry tomato pasta recipe. It’s easy and delicious!
This greek inspired pasta recipe is hugely trendy right now and with good reason – it’s absolutely amazing and easy to make.
My spin on it adds some fresh ingredients like lemon, more seasoning and olives for a pasta dish that is anything but bland!
The secret to this recipe is baking a gorgeous brick of feta cheese until it is hot and melty to create the most amazing cheese sauce for the pasta.
I watch a lot of food network shows and have seen a similar pasta dish make by tossing it in a whole round of Parmigiano-Reggiano.
That dish has always intrigued me but since it is prohibitively expensive to buy that much Parmigiano-Reggiano, I was really excited to try it with simple feta cheese.
The feta gets so melty and turns into this amazing cheese sauce that just coats everything.
With the herbs mixed in it is really quite tasty, especially when you get a nice forkful with a tomato and olive.
Tips for making the BEST Cherry Tomato Pasta
Use the right sized baking dish – You want to make sure your ingredients are pretty crowded in the baking dish for best results. This ensures that your gorgeous ingredients don’t burn, but instead cook evenly in the oil.
Not enough sauce? – In case your dish is too dry, reserve some of the pasta water from cooking. Add a little back into the finished dish until you get the right consistency.
Feta Pasta Variations
Here are some delicious ways you can customise this pasta dish even further:
Add a protein: Toss in some cooked, sliced Italian sausage or chopped chicken breast to the finished dish.
Add more veggies: Change up the olives for spinach, asparagus, mushrooms or bell peppers.
Make it Keto or low carb: Swap the traditional wheat pasta for Shirataki or Konjac pasta for a delicious keto pasta dinner.

About the Ingredients for Baked Feta Pasta
Cheese – Full fat block Feta is best here, I would not swap with crumbled feta. Goat cheese would be nice too.
Olives – Black olives are my favourite in this dish, they are a nice and meaty addition.
Tomatoes – Use cherry tomatoes as they are sweeter than grape tomatoes which provides a better balance with the cheese.
Garlic – Fresh garlic only here!
Onion – I used a small onion chopped, but you could experiment with pearl onions placed in whole too.
Lemon – Adds just a hint of fresh tang that really compliments the seasonings.
Seasoning – Greek seasoning and pepper is all you need here. If you can’t find greek seasoning make your own from basil, oregano and dill. I would only add salt at the end as needed.
Oil – Olive oil is your friend, don’t be stingy! Any olive oil will do but I have a preference for a good extra virgin olive oil.
Pasta – I used penne but you can use any pasta you like.
