12 Day Holiday Cleaning Checklist
Spreading out your cleaning tasks over 12 days leading up to the holidays is a great way to stay on track and get your house clean without the stress.
Each room in your house gets broken down into small, easily manageable tasks. Plus I have included a bonus kid’s room cleaning checklist so you can get your children in on helping to tidy up.

I would suggest grabbing a Letter Size planner binder so that you can keep the sheets organized, and kept nicely, along with any other printables you might want to use year after year.
You can also laminate these sheets so that they really last. A good laminator is pretty cheap as are the sleeves, and it takes only minutes to protect your sheets this way.

Organize Your Living Room
The first step on the list is to tackle the clutter and get the living room organized. This gets us ready to jump right into some deep cleaning on day two.
Clean Your Living Room
Day 2 sees us in the living room again, and will get you to tackle those tasks you might forget about or neglect throughout the year.
Organize Your Kitchen
On day 3 we move to the kitchen where we start to remove the clutter and get things organized. Think about how much easier it will be to get your holiday baking done with your pantry organized!
Clean Your Kitchen
Day 4 has us deep cleaning the kitchen. I like to light a holiday scented candle while I am doing these tasks or throw some holiday potpourri on the stove or in the slow cooker to simmer away. It makes the jobs more enjoyable and leaves the kitchen smelling even better.
Organize Your Bedroom
My bedroom is usually the last room I tackle when I’m cleaning. Mostly because I tend to just pick up after myself and other people aren’t leaving their things all over. I love waking up in a tidy bedroom, it sets the mood for the whole day when I am not greeted with a mess first thing. Get on this yourself, and set the tone for the rest of the holiday season with this checklist.
Clean Your Bedroom
Day 6 offers the opportunity to tackle some cleaning tasks you probably are doing every other week if not weekly anyway, along with some often forgotten tasks.
Clean Your Bathroom
Get your bathrooms clean and ready for guests on day 7.
Organize Your Bedroom
Then organize all the hidden places, and get everything in its place. Don’t forget to pay attention to the details.
Clean & Organize Your Laundry Room
Day 9 gives us the opportunity to pay some attention to the laundry room. My laundry appliances are stacked in a closet so this is almost a day off for me, but if you have a full laundry room, now is the time to get it organized.
Clean Your Guest Room
If you have a guest room you will want to freshen it up and get it ready for planned or unplanned guests alike. Fresh bed linens and a little dusting makes a world of difference! Don’t have a guest room? Use Day 10 to spot clean other areas of the house!
Clean & Organize Your Entryway
First impressions are so important, and the entryway to your home is no exception. Get it neat and tidy, ready to accept any guests you may receive over the holidays. Or you know, just impress the Amazon delivery guy.
Tackle Your Holiday Decorations
Once your home is clean and organized, its time to decorate! First though, get your holiday decorations clean and make sure you have everything you need to make your house festive looking!
Kid’s Room Holiday Cleaning Checklist
As a bonus I have included a handy holiday cleaning checklist you can print off and over to your children. It’s broken down over just 6 days with easy, manageable tasks that will help them get their rooms cleaner than ever.
Kid’s rooms tend to get out of control in a blink of an eye. So much clutter and laundry everywhere. This holiday cleaning checklist will reduce the groaning and complaining by breaking the deep cleaning tasks down over several days. It makes the job a lot less overwhelming and more likely to get done well.
You can also throw in a good dose of bribery and offer a small treat upon completion.
