    1. Yes, just cover and refrigerate but don’t add the apples until the morning. I’m doing the same thing for Christmas morning. 🙂

      1. Elizabeth, you assembled the whole thing, cream included, the night before? It didnt get soggy?

And the apples, did you prep them the night before but just not add them til morning? Or did you wait til the next morning to peel and slice them?

Sorry if these are dumb questions! Im making this for tomorrow and want to make sure I dont mess it up, hahaha. Thanks!

        1. I usually do it right then and there because its so easy but I have set it up the night before, it won’t get soggy because the dough isn’t baked yet. It actually helps the dough rise a little again if you leave it overnight. (I’m doing it this way tonight so I can pop it in the oven once everyone is up.)

No, I don’t prep the apples the night before, I like them to go on fresh, You could prep them the night before and cover them in lemon juice but that might affect the overall taste.

          1. Sounds good! I’ll start prepping mine right now. My husband is super excited, hahaha.

Thank you so much and Merry Christmas!

  4. omg this is totally delicious, hubby prepared it for the grandkids this morning i was lucky to get a taste.

  5. Celebrating tomorrow morning! My hubs has not had a weekend off in 4 months, between school and working .he has completed his training , So.we are making you recipe for a special breakfast tomorrow in his honor. 🍽🍎

  6. I had to use up five small honey crisp apples, so i prepped this the night before. Put everything but the apples unbaked in the fridge, per other comment. Peeled, chopped the apples and simmered on the stove with a splash of lemon juice, splash of water, about 1/2c sugar and 1tsp cinnamon. I wanted to cook it down so it wouldn’t make a soggy casserole. Morning of i spread the apples around, pushed them down and baked as directed. I lost track of time so it may have been five minutes more and it was great. I probably could have put even more apples in there! Thanks!!

  7. Will be using this recipe for sure when I next have the kids over, or will do a porch drop off this week, so they can enjoy it
