Arctic Teal Christmas Decoration Ideas
Christmas is definitely my favourite time of year aside from summer. So much so that I always have to force myself to wait for mid-November to come around before digging out my Christmas decorations. We recently moved to a slightly larger house with both a sitting room and a family room so I decided this would be the year of two Christmas trees.
After checking out the Canadian Tire website I felt inspired by the CANVAS Christmas Collection – in particular by the teal decor. My sitting room is grey, teal, yellow and white so I knew it would look fab to co-ordinate my Christmas decor with my year round decor. The main floor of our house is open concept so the eating area and my sitting room are in the same space so I knew I had to incorporate an awesome tablescape too. Read one for some great Teal Christmas Decoration Ideas!
I started with the amazing 6.5 foot CANVAS Pre-lit donner pine Christmas tree. It comes with a white resin urn pot stand that has such a beautifully classic look that works so well with the rest of the room. The tree itself is so realistic looking and has plenty of tips that easily hold up the ornaments I chose. It is also a bit narrow which is great for smaller spaces and it was super easy to put together. I had the tree put together and in place in less than 15 minutes, only the top quarter of the tree needed to be arranged, the rest simply falls into place. It also has a handy on/off function foot pedal which makes it easy to turn off and on as needed.
My next stop was the decoration aisle! Canadian Tire has their ornaments arranged by colour which makes shopping for colour co-ordinated ornaments a breeze. I knew I wanted to go with teal but after seeing this adorable CANVAS silver glittered owl ornament in with the white and silver ornaments I knew I was going to have to go with a few punches of white to really make the teal stand out.
Of course there were plenty of gorgeous single teal ornaments as well. This CANVAS Arctic Teal Peacock Finial Ornament is one of my favourites.
I have to say though that my favourite find was this CANVAS Arctic Teal Peacock Clip Ornament, isn’t it gorgeous? I actually picked up a few of these but I’m thinking of grabbing a few more. I love that it ties in the teal with the blue I used in small amounts throughout the space.
Of course, ornaments aren’t just for trees anymore! I grabbed the CANVAS bullet base vase to use for a little tabletop decor. I found that CANVAS has a 6 foot long Arctic Teal Shatterproof Ball Garland that I picked up. I cut it and used the ornaments from the garland to fill the vase, leaving about 2 feet of ornaments still on the garland.
Ornaments look really great in baskets and it’s a super easy idea to spread Christmas decor around a room for a more festive look. I tied off the remainder of the garland, filled the basket with plastic bags and placed the garland carefully on top to make it look like a basket full of ornaments.
Moving on to the dining area, I was inspired by Lucy Akins from CraftberryBush.com featured on the Canadian Tire website to take the plunge and go unusually rustic. Yeah. I am definitely not the kind of girl who thinks things like “Hey, let’s decorate by putting an animal head up on the wall!”. I promise you, that’s just not me, however, for some reason I was really taken by this look and knew I had to incorporate the CANVAS Silver Deer Wall Décor it into my teal room. It works well because the space has grey and silver already worked in and the green from the gorgeous CANVAS magnolia and pine wreath balances out the green from the Christmas tree and my little potted tree.
How could you not love how this looks? I just don’t know. I love that the deer head is more glittery than shiny and it comes ready to mount on your wall. Honestly, I’ve seen similar pieces elsewhere and this is definitely the best looking deer head I have seen.
For another rustic touch I just had to grab this CANVAS 3-tier Slate Serving Stand for my dining table. It is actually hand-finished slate which is finished off with a chrome spindle. It is a perfect centrepiece for serving appetizers or dessert on – or simply place a few ornaments on its tiers for a seasonal centrepiece.
While filling my cart with ornaments I came across this beautiful 6 pack of CANVAS Arctic Teal Glitter and Sequin Butterfly Ornaments. I knew they would be perfect for use with my teal Christmas tablescape.
To start off though I went and grabbed the gorgeous 40-piece CANVAS Lattice Dinnerware Set. My dinnerware is pretty terrible. I have a ton of it, mind you, but it’s all mismatched pieces I’ve bought here and there for food photography. Not quite fit for putting in front of Christmas guests! This dinnerware set is simply stunning. I love the lattice details and the quality is superb. It does include 8 of each: dinner plates, salad plates, cereal bowls, mugs and fruit bowls.
I folded some grey and white napkins I had on hand and placed them into each bowl, clipping on a butterfly at each place setting.
The butterflies really add a nice bit of colour to the table, don’t you think?
I grabbed a set of CANVAS white wine glasses and a set of CANVAS highball tumblers for the table too.
My flatware is also pretty disgraceful and made up between two sets that are missing pieces. I picked up the 50-Piece CANVAS Madison Flatware Set. I love the weight and look of the flatware and the set provides enough flatware for our holiday entertaining needs but are practical enough for everyday use.
I really love how it all came together and that I was able to grab everything I needed from Canadian Tire. I love Christmas shopping but it is so much more pleasant when it is made easy for you and since most of the items were all in one area of the store it is easy to pick out just the right colour co-ordinated décor. I’d like to say I am done, but I feel like I have more Arctic Teal Christmas Decoration Ideas to incorporate and another Canadian Tire trip in my near future!
