Buttons Cloth Diaper Review
I was sent a Buttons Diaper cover along with two inserts to check out. Buttons Diapers are a two-in-one diaper system that feature a wipe-able waterproof PUL covers and snap-in inserts.
The cover itself is one size and fits babies from 9-35 lbs. The cover has a three step rise as well as cross-over snaps, although it does lack hip snaps. It has double leg gussets which I love for keeping messes in and elastic not only at the back but at the front as well. It also features two layers of PUL to keep it waterproof, snaps for the inserts and the inside is wipe-able so it can be used multiple times without having to throw it in the wash. (YAY!)
The inserts are made of microfiber and moisture-wicking fleece, and snap right into the cover. The inserts come in 2 sizes (small and large) with a nighttime doubler option as well as the daytime insert. The daytime insert is made up of four layers of microfiber topped with a soft layer of fleece. The small daytime insert first from 9 to 20 lbs and the large from 20 to 25 lbs. I went with the large insert as Keira is just over 20 lbs now.
The nighttime insert is made up of six layers of microfiber but has no fleece layer as they are designed to be used under the daytime insert. The two inserts are able to snap together and then snapped into the cover itself.
I think we got a really good fit with the cover despite the lack of hip snaps. The cover fits perfectly around her legs as you can see and easily contains the inserts. I also found that it looked pretty trim on her despite how large and thick the inserts seem.
I was really impressed with both the absorbency of the inserts as well as the ability of the cover to keep the messes in. I do have another cover that is similar to the Buttons cover that I love except it does not feature the snap in inserts. I love that the inserts do snap in. It’s easier to ensure everything is neatly tucked in and nothing is going to move around while she is busy playing.
I also love the variety of colours available as well as how affordable the system is. Especially when you consider the fact that you could buy multiple inserts per cover.

Cloth diapering is definitely the way to go. These look so cute and they are a great diaper.
I really appreciate the amount of people that are returning to cloth diapering. Thank you peeps.
I think cloth diapers are making a come back…. & I think that’s wonderful. If everyone used cloth there would be so much less waste….thanks for the great review. My daughter is on the fence about using cloth or disposables. I’m going to share this review with her, it might help her to make a decision on which! Thanks beautiful you!
I had 7 children and all except the last one wore cloth diapers – meaning a ton of washing every day but I thought it was better for them. With my last one I caved and got the disposables, it was either that or another big investment in diapers. I did like the convenience of the throwaways but boy are they expensive seen over a month – I’d hate to know how much money diapers cost for the duration, must be a small fortune. So far, of my children (3 have their own kids now) only one uses cloth diapers the others use disposables.
We’ve been contemplating on getting cloth diapers for our little one. Great review
Thanks for the review, I am going to share this with my nephew and his wife who are expecting. I like how the inserts snap in with this system, I would think that would definitely help to keep everything in the right place.
I really like the look and the colours of this diaper. They seem great!
Cloth diapers have changed from when I used them for babies. The closures are perfect and you don’t have to worry about pins opening
I love reading cloth diaper reviews. I use half cloth half disposable with my kids and loved them. I also made my own baby wipes out of old towels and track pants. My kids had reactions to the store bought wipes and once I switched to just a cloth with water their bums were always soft and smooth.
Glad I am past this stage, I have a few nieces that are fairly new moms and are trying out these cloth diapers
