New Flavours from Baby Gourmet

Ava is now 17 months old.  Can you believe it?  She is busy running around after her sister and is already talking my ear off with real words.  Almost daily I wonder how it is my baby went from an itty bitty newborn to this toddler who thinks she runs this house.

It’s really amazing to see how Ava has grown though, especially personality wise and just how different from her sister she is.  She is independent in many ways and wants to do everything herself but she is also very clingy and spends a lot of her time in my lap hanging out with me.  When it comes to food she will eat pretty much anything and she will eat it voraciously.

Keira, my 3 year old, on the other hand seems to subside off liquids and the odd bite or two of actual food.

When it comes to feeding both of them, whether its a healthy snack for Ava to tide her over while I make dinner or just an attempt to get Keira to actually eat, I love to go back to an old favourite from their baby days.  Baby Gourmet!

I love Baby Gourmet and so do the girls.  I love them because they are full of a variety of amazing ingredients that help round out their diets in a convenient to use pack.  They love them because they taste so great.  Baby Gourmet contains no added sugars, salts, artificial coloring/flavouring and is gluten-free, nut-free, and comes housed in BPA-free packaging which makes them a great choice for my family.

While I don’t normally go out of my way to buy organic,  I do prefer to buy organic for the girls when I see it available.  For those that do prefer organic food, Baby Gourmet is certified organic.

Keira loves to call the squeeze pouches treats, and with flavours like Vanilla Banana Berry Risotta and Old Fashioned Apple Crisp, it is no wonder she thinks so.  Flavours like Juicy Pear & Garden Greens make it easy to make sure she is getting in a serving of vegetables even during times when she decides she doesn’t like green food.  The veggie beef bolognese & pasta stars is Keira’s all-time favourite since she was a year old though and I have to admit, it does taste pretty good!

New this summer are a couple of new additions to the award winning baby food line:

  • Black Bean, Chicken, Sweet Corn and Quinoa contains 7 grams of protein per pouch and is recommended for babies 7 months+
  • Autumn Pumpkin Pear Beef Stew – is a hearty dish containing 3 grams of protein per pouch and is recommended for babies 6 months+
  • Summer Cherry, Banana and Spinach – tasty way to get (sneak) greens into your baby! Recommended for babies 6 months+

We were sent Black Bean, Chicken, Sweet Corn and Quinoa, Autumn Pumpkin Pear Beef Stew and an old favourite, Fruity Chicken & Brown Rice to try out.  We didn’t get to try the Summer cherry, Banana and Spinach but it sounds like something that would work well with the girls, and it comes in a squeeze pouch rather than the regular pouch which makes feeding even easier no matter the age.

The girls like both the Black Bean, Chicken, Sweet Corn and Quinoa, Autumn Pumpkin Pear Beef Stew flavours pretty equally.   Keira, my picky eater, had no problem finishing off either flavour when I first served them to her.  Indeed she actually told me they were yummy while Ava was busying smacking her mouth and telling me “Mmmm!” which generally means she loves it!

When it comes to feeding actual infants Baby Gourmet you will want to pay attention to the recommended age range for the food.  6m+ is smooth while 8m+ adds slight texture and 12m+ adds in a little more.
