I love hanging unique and pretty ornaments on my tree. While there are pretty enough ornaments to be found in various stores throughout the season, they are the same ones you can find in thousands of homes across the country. With a little imagination you can come up with your own Christmas decorations, and since they are handmade they are also usually inexpensive and unlike anything hanging on your neighbours tree. I think these Vintage Washi Tape Ornaments are beautiful and make an excellent little gift too!
Vintage Washi Tape Ornaments
Materials:
Metal Christmas Cookier Cutters – I found my vintage ones at a local consignment store. They were a bit pricey – $1.50 each, but I love all things vintage and these were worth the price to me. New metal cookie cutters would work too.
Assorted washi tapes – I stuck with what I thought was more traditional Christmas-y colors – blue, red yellow and a cute multi color print.
Twine or ribbon – I love twine as t give a more rustic feel.
Directions:
These ornaments are super easy to do and take less than 10 minutes. Simply place the washi tape on the ornament vertically and work your way around it nice a slow so that is goes on evenly.
I had to peel mine up a few times here and there just make sure it was even. I held the roll in my hand as I worked my way around the ornament and then ripped the end piece.
Once you have your washi applied to the ornament, you can attach your twine. I simply double knotted mine and to make it stick to the top of the ornament, I placed a small piece of washi tape on the underside.
That’s it. Easy and its not only a super cute ornament its also a unique Christmas gift!
