About the Equipment Needed to Make Strawberry Poppy Seed Dressing

Blender – I have been using a Blendtec blender for almost 10 years now, and it is used on a constant basis. Any high-speed blender should work, fruit and liquids aren’t a big job for most blenders to puree.

Food Processor – If you don’t have a blender, then you can definitely use a food processor instead.

About the Ingredients for Strawberry Poppy Seed Salad Dressing

The dressing ingredients are pretty simple but here are all the details if you need to know about substitutions.

Strawberries – You will need about 6-8 large strawberries, or 5 ounces. You can also use frozen strawberries, just thaw them first!

Vinegar – Use red wine vinegar for the best flavour. Balsamic vinegar is a great option for a substitute. White wine vinegar, rice vinegar, and apple cider vinegar works too but the flavour won’t be quite as good. Lemon juice is another good substitute here, especially when pairing with fruit.

Honey – You can use your favourite sweetener here in place of honey in an equal amount. If you have particularly sweet berries you can get away with omitting entirely.

Olive oil – Extra virgin olive oil is the best for vinaigrette, if you need to substitute then sunflower oil is a good choice. Other oils may be too heavy or flavoured for this dressing.

Poppy Seeds – They provide texture and visual appeal. Black sesame seeds work too if for some reason you can’t get poppy seeds.

Salt and pepper – Taste and season more if needed.

I am not sure as I haven't tried canning this dressing myself. It should be possible based on the ingredients, you may want to soak the strawberries in vinegar first.
