The 10th Anniversary edition of the beloved children’s classic.
Ten years ago, the creators of Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What DoYou Hear? reunited to address the important topic of animal conservation. The result, Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See?, became an instant classic.
A Bald Eagle soars, a Spider Monkey swings, a Macaroni Penguin struts, and a Red Wolf sneaks through Bill Martin Jr’s rhythmic text and Eric Carle’s vibrant images, and all are watched over by our best hope for the future—a dreaming child.
Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See? (2003) continues the series started with Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? (1967) and Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear? (1991). This title has a variety of endangered animals, (a water buffalo, a green sea turtle, a Macaroni Penguin, and more,) answering the familiar call, “What do you see?”
The double page full spread images in Eric Carle’s classic vibrant style really bring the animals to life, and the mostly simple language are sure to capture a child’s attention. Although this book doesn’t teach basic concepts it is a great introduction to endangered species for younger children.
The 10th Anniversary Edition includes a special audio CD of the complete story read by Gwyneth Paltrow and is in a larger hard back format than the original.

A very nice book that children will no doubt love. I also love the images by Eric Carle. I hope Bill Martin Jr keeps on writing this sort of book for children.
