Fly along with Elecopter as she soars above the savannah, patrolling the skies with her fire-hose nose at the ready. The other animals are safe with Elecopter on the scene—Elecopter is a hero for all! Preschoolers are in for a treat in this chant-along companion to Monkey Truck.
Michael Slack’s Elecopter is a fun, rhyming hard back picture book aimed at children aged 2 to 5 years old. The star of the story, Elecopter, is a brave helicopter elephant (get it… Elecopter) who travels around the jungle helping all the other animals.
The story itself is written in a simple rhyming style that lends itself to rhythmic/chanting reading. The illustrations remind me of some of the Little Golden Books I loved as a child. They are bright with a fun sense of style that toddlers will find exciting. The story itself is exceptionally cute with a great sense of adventure. This probably isn’t great as a bedtime story as it will be sure to get your little one going, but its fun to read just about any other time!
Keira absolutely loves reading through Elecopter and giggles out loud by the end. She will happily sit and flip through the book by herself as well taking in the illustrations at her own pace.
I haven’t read Monkey Truck by Michael Slack but after having read Elecopter I think I will be picking it up!
