Perfect for cookie exchanges, holiday parties, or a fun family baking activity, these no-bake reindeer cookies are as delightful to make as they are to eat.
Ingredients and Substitutions
- Nutter Butter Cookies: These serve as the base for the reindeer. Substitute with other oval-shaped cookies, like Vienna Fingers or homemade peanut butter cookies, if needed.
- Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips: Used for coating and as “glue.” You can swap with milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate depending on preference. Chocolate melts or candy coating also work well for smoother coverage.
- Mini Pretzels: These create the antlers. Use regular pretzels, broken in half if desired, as shown on the plain nutter butter reindeer cookies.
- Candy Eyes: Substitute with white chocolate chips or icing dots with a dot of melted chocolate for the pupils.
- Candy-Coated Chocolates (M&Ms): Any small round candy works.

How to Make Nutter Butter Reindeer Cookies
Yield: About 30 cookies | Prep Time: 20 minutes | Chill Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 package Nutter Butter cookies (about 30 cookies)
- 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 30 mini pretzels
- 60 candy eyes
- 30 red or brown candy-coated chocolates
Instructions:
Prepare Your Workspace
Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper.
Melt the Chocolate
Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until smooth and melted.
Coat Half the Cookies
For variety, coat one-half of the cookies in melted chocolate by submerging the top cookie only into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess chocolate to drip off. (Image 1) Place all coated cookies on the prepared baking sheet, then quickly decorate with a pretzel for the antlers, candy eyes, and candy-coated chocolate for the nose. (Image 2)
Decorate the Remaining Cookies
Do not coat the remaining cookies with chocolate. (Image 3)
- Attach Antlers: Use a small dab of melted chocolate to attach one pretzel to the top of each cookie to create the antlers.
- Add Eyes: Apply small dots of melted chocolate below the antlers and press two candy eyes onto each cookie.
- Place the Nose: Below the eyes, dab a little melted chocolate and press a red or brown candy-coated chocolate to form the nose. (Image 4)
Set the Decorations
Once all the cookies are decorated, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 15 minutes or until the chocolate is completely set.
