Baby Ddrops® is a natural-sourced liquid vitamin D supplement produced to meet the needs of breastfed babies and infants and to help fight Vitamin D deficiency. Unlike other vitamin D supplements, only 1 drop of Baby Ddrops is required to provide the full daily dose as recommended by the Canadian Paediatric Society.
Keira was given nothing but breastmilk right from the start in the NICU right up until we started solids as we continue to breastfeed to this day. Since she is breastfed one of the recommendations we were given by her pediatrician as well as from other health professionals under whose care she was under was to ensure she was given a Vitamin D supplement. Breastmilk does contain Vitamin D, just not the amount needed to meet the recommendations.
When we got home from the hospital I sent out my husband to the drugstore to get her baby Ddrops. I had heard of them during my pregnancy thanks to a Baby/Pregnancy event I attended so I wanted to try it out. I liked the sound of only needing to give her one drop. Unfortunately my husband is not a “good” shopper and returned with another brand of Vitamin D. What a mistake! She loved the drops, that was not a problem, since I discovered they were loaded with sugar. (Ugh!) However I needed to give her an entire dropper full each day and it was messy, sticky stuff! Needless to say as soon as that bottle was done I went out myself and purchased Baby Ddrops® and what a difference they made!
Since Baby Ddrops® are designed to be sucked off any clean surface such as mother’s nipple or pacifier it was quick and easy to administer her doses. No more messes or dealing with eyedroppers. Now that she is on solids and drinking milk from a bottle I can easily drop her dose into her food or into her bottle and since it is tasteless and odourless there is no fussing! It is such a convenient way to get Keira the nutrients she needs. When she recently had blood-work done to check her iron and vitamin D levels our pediatrician was quite pleased with her results and I knew I had Baby Ddrops® to thank! Parents will love that Baby Ddrops® contain no preservatives, no artificial flavours and no added colours and that they are wheat-free, gluten-free, soy-free, corn-free, sugar-free, milk-free and peanut-free!
Ddrops also has products for the rest of the family so babies, children and adults alike can meet the recommended Vitamin D intake for their age group. Like Baby Drops they are a single drop dosage and contain no preservatives, no artificial flavours and no added colours as well as being is wheat-free, gluten-free, soy-free, corn-free, sugar-free, milk-free and peanut-free. I learned that more vitamin D or sunshine during infancy prevent other diseases later in life, such as juvenile diabetes or multiple sclerosis. I didn’t know this!
I liked that it doesnt need to be mixed with anything, is easy to use, and contains no preservatives, artificial colors, or soy, wheat, and is gluten free
I learned that they are a canadian company and that their product line isn’t just for infants but rather they have options for the whole family. And gluten free?! Would have never considered vitamin drops as a gluten product.
I learned that the Baby Ddrops can be dropped into food and drink… I didn’t know that, I’m still rubbing it into the inside of my son’s cheek every morning.
I’ve used other vitamin D drops and they all take more than just one drop. So much better for getting it into a baby. I also appreciate that D-Drops is a Canadian company!
As long as they’re properly administered by a parent or guardian, drops are not necessarily a bad idea. I do think that vitamin D gummies are a HORRIBLE idea for children.
I learned that breast milk contains only 10% of the recommended daily intake of vitamin D. Babies need vitamin D for healthy growth and development. In particular, bones require vitamin D to help with the absorption of calcium. Recent studies show that more vitamin D or sunshine during infancy seems to prevent other diseases later in life, such as juvenile diabetes or multiple sclerosis.
I learned that Ddrops are designed to be put into food or drinks. The heat of cooking might lessen the potency of vitamin D by a few percentage points, but not enough to make a big difference.
Over the years due to health reasons i’ve learned a lot about vitamin D. It can help with chronic pain and mental health issues so it is good to have your levels checked at least once a year. The drops are amazing and easy. You can add them to anything you make, bake, eat or drink. They are also easier for your body to absorb then the pills.
I did learn that this company is Canadian which makes me very happy to spend money on the drops. (i have to take 10,000UI a day)
Interesting site. I was pleasantly surprised to read it was just one drop, as trying to give something to a wee one can be a little hard . As strictly breast -feeding I put my son in direct sunlight but good to know of this product esp with the winter dragging on as long as it has . Good to know all the other info about the drops for other ages as well .

It’s good that it has no taste.
I loved D-Drops, much better than the sugary cherry taste 1 ml that other brands offer. And it’s so easy to give to a newborn!
