We hear “our children are our future” so much it sounds cliché, but something that cannot be disputed and retains its original meaning isn’t cliché. It’s easy enough to prove- we won’t be here in the future, but our children will. Making the world a better place for them now will equip them with the skills and empathy to continue the practice through many the generations to come.
Reach Out
Too often we get comfortable in our own little world, forgetting about all the others who don’t have basic necessities like nutritious food and good drinking water. Medical treatments and clothing may not be absolutely necessary for survival but they are comforts that make living a little easier. Clothes to shield the elements and medicine to ease sickness or prevent disease are things so many of us take for granted but are luxuries to children in all parts of the world.
By ourselves we can’t do as much as when we combine our resources to provide elements that bring relief from hardship. A few dollars every month can provide food, water and a few treats for more children than we could have thought possible. Charitable organizations know how to get things done and where to go for the best value with their donated dollars. For example, you can help children in need around the world with Unicef, one of several organizations that focus on aid to children.
Aid is More Than Monetary Donations
Money donations are always appreciated and always needed for all charity organizations. But, in order for these organizations to run efficiently they must have adequate numbers of staff. It would be great if all that was needed was money, however, any type of volunteer work anyone is able to contribute is just as valuable as funding. Volunteer positions could be available in several countries across the world. Simply contact your organization of choice for details on the possibility of volunteering and determined criteria for volunteers. It could well be an experience of a lifetime.
A new focus on sharing the good fortune we have been blessed to receive has brought a resurgence to the awareness we have for helping people throughout the world achieve improvements to their lives. We can look forward to the day when no child on earth goes hungry or lacks clean drinking water.

I haven't heard much about Unicef since I was a child and carried a little box around on Hallowe'en. Thank you for your post. I'm going to click on the link to learn more about them.
