Philips SensoTouch 3D Review #FathersDay

Fathers day is always a challenge, especially when it comes to my husband as his birthday is also in June.  I always make sure to get him gifts that he will not only love, but actually use.  Sometimes I go for the trifecta and get him something that also completely benefits me.  

This year it will be a definite trifecta with the Philips SensoTouch 3D. 

The Philips SensoTouch 3D is the first 3D, wet and dry electric shaver.  It is effortless to use and delivers a flawless shave every-time. 

Until now he has relied on his barber for his shaves.  Yeah.  He goes to a barber.  To get shaved.  Needless to say, since having children this became a rare visit for him.  Which has meant that I’ve had to put up with not only stubble, but beards. 

The opportunity arose to try out the Philips SensoTouch 3D and I jumped on it.  Can you blame me?

He was thrilled to have his very first electric shaver and got to work with it right away after giving it the 3 minutes needed to charge the shaver enough to run for one full shave.    His first shave was a dry shave as he wasn’t willing to use my shaving cream on his face.  Fair enough. 

Thankfully for his face, the Philips SensoTouch 3D utilises a Gyroflex 3D system to minimize irritation with edges that glide over the skin and adjust to every curve of the face while the UltraTrack heads take care of every hair short and long in just a few strokes.  The shaving head has 3 specialized tracks: slots for normal hair; channels for long or flat laying hair; and holes for the shortest stubble on your face.

The shaver can also be used with shaving cream or gel for additional skin protection thanks to the Aquatec sealing.  My husband really prefers the ease and quickness of a dry shave though and loves how close this shaver gets.  Even when compared to the shave he gets from his barber. 

The precision trimmer is also very handy.  It simply clicks out and allows you to get a “fresh line up” according to my husband.  Something he previously had to go to the barbershop for.  He actually said he isn’t going to the barber again and is excited about all the money he is now going to save.

The shaver is rechargeable and cordless.  With just one hour of charging you get 50 minutes of continuous use.  There is a 3 level LED battery display with a Battery low indicator, Charge indicator, Travel lock, Cleaning indicator, and Replace shaving heads indicator.

The Philips SensoTouch 3D comes with a foldable charging stand and cord, a soft pouch for travel and storage, a cleaning brush and protective cap.

This fathers day we will all be happy in this household.  He gets a perfect shave every-time and super quickly, and I don’t have to deal with a beard that just won’t go away.
