Since I first got my Canon EOS Rebel SL1 camera I discovered a passion for photography I never knew I had.  I mean I’ve never so much as taken a photography course or picked up a photography book and actually read it.  Thankfully my Canon is incredibly intuitive and makes the hands-on learning process so easy!  Honestly though, since I upgraded my lens to the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens kit a lot of my photography could pass as taken by a professional.

The photos are high quality, clear and bright with incredible detail in each shot.  The photos in this post have only been resized and watermarked with no other edits.  What’s exciting is that most of these are pretty much perfect with no real need for edits.

Since it’s been so warm the last few days I grabbed my camera and the girls and we went for a walk around our neighbourhood.  Before starting out though I just had to grab some shots of plants bursting to life in our garden.

I was honestly amazed with all the detail the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens was able to capture and with such clarity and beautifully soft backgrounds.

I really just can’t get over how well this lens captures even the itty bittiest little details but that is the power of a professional grade macro lens.

What I really love about the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens kit though is how versatile it is.  I can go from shooting tiny plant shoots to gorgeous photos of my children and more.    There are so many lenses out there it can be hard to decide on the right one but this lens is such a work horse it’s easily become my go-to lens.

Thanks to the ability to shoot multiple times I am also able to easily grab fabulous shots of my two little ones who are actually incapable of sitting still long enough for a single photo.  Familiar anyone?

I love how the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens kit makes every photo seem extraordinary.  My biggest problem is always sorting out the best photos from a shoot.  It’s a really terrible problem to have, of course!

Really my only wish is that Canon could find a way to get my two to look and smile at the camera at the same time.  For now I will settle on the multiple shots feature.  If nothing else, but because I can capture extra-ordinary smiles and moments like this one of my two girls.

The Canon L-Series lenses provide amazing optical imaging quality for stunning, professional-quality results whether  you are an aspiring amateur or a professional.  For me, I have found the Image Stabilization feature of the 100mm L-Series lens to be incredible as far as helping me to capture crystal clear photos at the drop of a hat.  Parents  often quickly grab their cameras at a moments notice to capture photos of their children.  There is no time to setup a tripod and this often results in less than stellar photos.  The image stabilization feature is able to easily compensate for shake and the ultrasonic focus motor (USM) provides super quick and really quiet auto-focusing so even first time photographers can capture clear photos.

When it comes to photos of my children, I do have to say that they have gotten better in leaps and bounds since I’ve started using the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens for that purpose.

The photos are brighter, clearer and always just strike me as so beautiful the way the lens captures the light and colours of the real world.

As you probably also know, I really enjoy food photography and I am not sure if you have noticed but I think there has been exceptional improvement in my food photography as well.  I’m really excited about where I will be able to take my skills with more and more practice.
