The Brown Sugar in this Brown Sugar and Vanilla Handmade Soap gives it a beautiful translucent golden colour with a light and sweet scent enhanced by the vanilla essential oil.
Soap can be fun and easy to make when you use a melt and pour soap base. Simply add a few herbs, essential oils and other additives, and you can make lavish soaps in a variety of aromatic scents.
Brown Sugar and Vanilla Handmade Soap
Materials:
1 lb Clear Glycerin Melt and Pour Soap
2 tsp Vanilla Fragrance Oil
2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle
Directions:
Cut the soap into 1-inch cubes and place into a large microwave safe bowl and cover with cling wrap.
Heat the soap in your microwave for 45 seconds.
Stir the soap then heat again in 30 second increments until melted and smooth.
Stir in the vanilla fragrance oil and brown sugar.
Pour the soap into your moulds.
Lightly spray the soap with rubbing alcohol to eliminate any bubbles.
Allow soap to completely solidify and cool down, about 1 hour, before removing from the moulds.
Wrap in plastic wrap to store.

Can you just use vanilla essential oil that’s not vanilla fragrance oil?

Hi Lisa, I don't think you will have much luck with getting the scent to come through in the soap using vanilla essential oil.

The sugar must melt in the glycerin base that's how you get the beautiful color. I did it twice. Enjoy.
