Family Day is a statutory holiday observed in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Ontario, and Saskatchewan on the third Monday of February. This is a wonderful time to take a breather from the usual hustle and bustle of modern life and just enjoy time with our loved ones.  I can’t think of a better way to spend Family day than by making some hot chocolate and freshly baked cookies and sitting down with my whole family to play some of our old and new favourite board games!

This year we will spend some quality time together making new memories and reconnecting over Clue (old favourite!) and Jenga BOOM  (new favourite!) from Hasbro.

Clue, The Classic Mystery Game, is a twist on the original game featuring new characters and even allows for games with just two-players. Reclusive millionaire Samuel Black’s been murdered in his mansion and it’s up to you to crack the case! “Question everything to unravel the mystery. Who did it? Where? And with what weapon? Ransack the mansion for clues, ask cunning detective questions and leave no card unturned. Solve the murder first to win!”  Clue has been one of my favourite games since my childhood and it never gets old!

Jenga Boom is an interesting twist on the classic game – like the classic the goal is to pull the blocks out of the stack in an effort to continue to build upwards without knocking it over.  In this version time is not on your side – you need to move fast during your turn in order to “outrun” the detonator or face the entire stack exploding.
