Ingredients and Substitutions

  • Nutter Butter Cookies: These serve as the base for the reindeer. Substitute with other oval-shaped cookies, like Vienna Fingers or homemade peanut butter cookies, if needed.
  • Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips: Used for coating and as โ€œglue.โ€ You can swap with milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate depending on preference. Chocolate melts or candy coating also work well for smoother coverage.
  • Mini Pretzels: These create the antlers. Use regular pretzels, broken in half if desired, as shown on the plain nutter butter reindeer cookies.
  • Candy Eyes: Substitute with white chocolate chips or icing dots with a dot of melted chocolate for the pupils.
  • Candy-Coated Chocolates (M&Ms): Any small round candy works.
