Easy ways to get to 10,000 Steps Every Day to live a healthier lifestyle. Ten thousand steps is a great daily fitness goal that can help you burn an extra 500 calories a day!

A phenomenon has swept through our nation and the name of this sensation is counting steps. There are many different products on the market that are designed to help consumers walk their way to a healthy lifestyle by counting how many steps they take each day. People with step counters can even join groups, participating in challenges to see who has the most steps or who can meet their goal every day. A common goal is to get 10,000 steps. Although this lofty goal can sometimes be difficult to attain, these simple tips can help you get your 10,000 steps in each day.

Park Further Away

You’ve probably heard this tip before, but if you want to meet your 10,000 steps goal, try parking further away from work or the grocery store. The further you have to walk, the more steps you’ll take, making it easier to get 10,000 steps before you go to bed at night. If you park on the street at home, you can also try parking a little further away so that you get even more steps.

Get Off a Stop Early

Alternatively, if you commute, try getting off a stop or two early and walk from there instead of from your usual stop.

Take a Lap Around Work

If you’re struggling to get your 10,000 steps in each day, try taking a lap around the workplace during your breaks. If your building has more than one floor, take a lap around each floor so that you can earn even more steps. The more frequently you do this, the easier it will be to get 10,000 steps for the day.

Walk In Place

At the end of the day, if you still haven’t met your 10,000 steps goal, try walking in place while watching TV. Not only will you have your TV to entertain you, you’ll also get a good workout with your constant movement. Try to extend this marching time to be at least 30 minutes or longer so that it counts as an active workout.

Use the Stairs

Always choose to use the stairs instead of taking an elevator.

Remember, the faster you walk the more calories you’ll burn – you could burn approximately 500 calories just by taking 10,000 steps! Step counting is a great way to make sure you get enough exercise throughout the day. This will help lead to a healthier lifestyle for you!
