How to Store Peeps Dirt Cups

Any leftover dirt cups can be stored, covered, in the fridge for up to 3 days. The cookie crumbs may begin to get a little soggy though, so I would really recommend consuming the dirt cups on the same day you assemble them if you dislike that.

You can make the filling ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days. Assemble the dirt cups when you are ready to serve them.

I do not recommend freezing them as the texture may get grainy once thawed.

Ingredients for Peeps dirt cups.

Ingredients for Peeps Dirt Cups

Oreos – You will need 45 Oreo cookies, with filling for this recipe. An 18.12 oz family size package will do.

Pudding mix – Any instant pudding mix flavour will work, just get the right amount. If you plan to colour the pudding, then choose a flavour that is white or yellow such as vanilla, cheesecake, white chocolate, or coconut.

Milk – You will need cold milk to prepare the pudding mix, whole milk will give the best flavour, but you could even use non dairy if you like.

Cool whip – You could also fold in real whipped cream but you will need to stabilise the whipping cream first by whipping in a little cornstarch or other diary product like marscapone or cream cheese.

Food colouring – The food colouring is completely optional for a fun pop of colour. Use gel food colouring for the best results.

Coconut – You can use sweetened or unsweetened shredded coconut depending on how sweet you want the dessert. You could also swap in sprinkles instead.

Cadbury eggs – Any mini candy coated chocolate eggs will work.

Peeps – You can use any kind of Peeps marshmallows you like.
