These Loaded Cheeseburger Muffins are ready in just 30 minutes for a fun filled lunch, dinner or even as a summer appetizer. All the flavour of a hamburger in one easy to eat muffin.
This is a dish the whole family will love, and it is super easy to put together.
How to Store Loaded Cheeseburger Muffins
These Loaded Cheeseburger Muffins are very freezer friendly, so make them in bulk and freeze for later.
I like to freeze them in a single layer on a parchment paper lined baking sheet then transfer them to an airtight freezer bag. They are good in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Reheat in the microwave until warm straight from frozen, or thaw overnight in the fridge and pop them in the oven at 350 F until warmed through.
They also keep well stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
How to Top Cheeseburger Muffins
Top your cheeseburger muffins with your favourite cheeseburger fixings! This can include:
- Diced Tomatoes
- Diced Pickles
- Onions (Raw or Carmelised)
- Sauerkraut
- Pickled Jalapenos
- Your favourite condiments and sauces!
About the Ingredients for Cheeseburger Muffins
Meat – Use a blend of lean ground meat and sausage meat (removed from casing). You could use Hot Italian if you want muffins with a bite.
Bacon – Thick cut bacon is best here. Get it nice and crisp.
Onion – I used plain old yellow onions here, but just use what you have on hand.
Worcestershire sauce – Adds some kick to the meat mixture.
Soy sauce – Adds a little umami to the meat mixture.
Garlic – 1 Tbsp is the minimum. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t just add like 6 cloves of garlic to everything so you know.. add as much as you like.
Cheese – Cheddar is the classic here, but you could try different cheeses. Pepper jack would be pretty tasty.
Flour – Spoon and level your flour so your muffin doesn’t end up dense.
Baking powder – Make sure your baking powder is still active before using so that the muffins rise.
Salt – Makes all the flavours really shine.
Egg – Always use a room temperature egg to start.
Milk – You can use any kind of milk you prefer. I used whole milk.
Oil – Vegetable oil is best here but you can use any neutral flavoured oil you like.
