Make taking a bath or washing hands fun for kids by making handmade kids soap with toys inside. You can use any mould and small toy for this purpose. They make great stocking stuffers too!
The blue soap dye is optional in this tutorial, however it does give the soap that translucent look that you don’t quite get from the glycerine soap alone.
You can choose to use any essential oil that is safe for kids or fragrance oil. The fruity smells of the citrus essential oils should be particularly appealing to kids however over choices parents might make such as lavender. If you are looking to help calm them down, orange essential oil may do the trick and be a scent that kids find attractive.
I chose to use My Little Pony figures but any little toy should do the trick!
Kids Soap with Toys Inside
Materials:
1 lb Clear Glycerin Melt and Pour Soap
Blue soap dye
4 small toys
4 4oz moulds
Citrus Essential Oils (orange, grapefruit, mandarin, lemon and lime) or fruity fragrance oils
Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle
Directions:
Place a toy onto the bottom of each mould and lightly spray with rubbing alcohol.
Cut the soap into 1-inch cubes and place into a large microwave safe bowl or 4 cup glass measuring cup and cover with cling wrap.
Heat the soap in your microwave for 45 seconds.
Stir the soap then heat again in 30 second increments until melted and smooth.
Stir in one drop of blue soap dye and essential oil of your choice.
Pour the soap into your moulds.
Lightly spray the soap with rubbing alcohol to eliminate any bubbles.
Allow soap to completely solidify and cool down, about 1 hour, before removing from the moulds.
Wrap in plastic wrap to store.
