I was given the opportunity to try out the Infusium 23 Repair & Renew Collection.  The Infusium 23 Repair & Renew Collection is a 3 step system including Shampoo, Conditioner, and Leave-In Treatment.  This collections is designed to help strengthen hair against damage to alleviate breakage and split ends caused by routine styling and every day stresses.  This system is ideal for hair that is damaged from chemical treatment, heat and over-exposure to the elements.
My hair is extra long (and quite honestly needs a cut but who has time for that?) and very thick and curly.  It’s a bit much for me to manage when curly so it gets straightened after every wash.  That is a lot of heat damage!  After washing with shampoo and conditioner my hair tends to be very frizzy and dry looking prior to straightening. It became pretty clear that my hair was in need of a rescue!

The Repair & Renew Shampoo cleanses to remove residue and buildup while nourishing the hair from root to tip, minimizing friction and alleviating breakage.

I really love the light scent of this shampoo and found that it quickly got a nice lather going.  I think this is easily the best lather I have gotten from a shampoo before which is nice when you have as much hair as I do.  My hair felt stripped after using the shampoo though so I was a little concerned about what the final result would be.

I noticed the shampoo does not contain Sodium Lauryl Sulphate after checking the ingredient list and love that all three products in the collection are cruelty free.

The Repair & Renew Conditioner infuses hair to provide softness, manageability and shine.  Rinses easily to prevent buildup.

I found the conditioner was nice and thick and was easy to smooth throughout my hair.  I could immediately feel the moisture being restored to my hair.  I felt the conditioner on for two minutes after working in it so I could get the maximum benefits.  I found it rinsed out as easily as it went on and once rinsed out my hair felt silky and smooth.  I felt a little more relaxed about the shampoo working so well at cleaning my hair and the state of moisture now retained by my hair.

The Repair and Renew leave-in treatment treats hair to restore healthy texture and strengthen against future damage.  Instantly detangles wet or dry hair and is light enough to provide everday manageability.

After I towel dried my hair a bit I simply spayed in the leave-treatment and brushed through my hair to allow for maximum distribution.  I never blow dry my hair but rather allow it to air-dry and then braid my hair overnight so it won’t tangle and then straighten my hair.  All in an effort to minimise the damage I do to my locks.

I normally detangle my hair in the shower with normal conditioner in but I wanted to see how the leave-in treatment worked as a detangler.  As soon as I started to brush my hair out I could feel that my curls felt smoother and it was actually easy to detangle.

When I took my braids out in the morning both my husband and I were surprised by how smooth and perfectly soft and defined my curls were.  Normally my hair looks fried and puffy when it is dry – whether it‘s been in braids or not.  Throughout the day I remained happy with the luster and softness my hair retained without having to reapply the leave-in treatment.

My daughters hair is afro-textured at the back although the front is still softer baby curls so I decided to experiment with the leave-in conditioner.  I’ve tried baby detangler and the brands I’ve tried just do not work on her mixed hair.

Now I don’t know if you are supposed to use adult leave-in conditioner/detangler on a child under the age of two but honestly I was desperate for help with combing it all out without hurting her in the process.  I sprayed just a little on and with a comb I was able to achieve the impossible!  I was happier still when I found the curls at the back of her head were nicely defined and not reverting back to the mess it was by the end of the day.

Clearly the Leave-in Treatment works great with her hair type as well as my own.  Checking the ingredient list I found the third ingredient is Castor oil which I’ve had recommended to me to use on her hair/scalp to help with moisture.  Bonus!

Infusium 23 Repair & Renew Collection restores luster to damaged hair as easily as 1-2-3 with professional salon results without the high cost.  I definitely recommend and love this collection!  Infusium 23 also has a nice variety of collections suitable for other hair-problems that are worth looking it such as their Volume building collection!
