This is the easiest recipe for honey garlic chicken ever.
You know that feeling when you have big plans to cook a gourmet meal but in the end, all you want is something fast and easy?
Problem solved!
This Honey Garlic Chicken Sheet Pan Meal Recipe is the perfect solution for busy weeknights. It’s quick, easy, and ridiculously flavorful. You’ll love how simple this recipe is to make with ingredients you probably already have on hand. Plus it makes your entire house smell amazing while it cooks.

How to Store Honey Garlic Chicken
When stored properly, honey garlic chicken can last for 3-4 days on average. If you want to be on the safe side, you should use your cooked chicken within three days of refrigeration.
It’s best to store it in an airtight container so that no odours transfer and ruin your dish!
If you’re not planning on eating your leftovers within 3 days, then it’s time to whip out that plastic wrap and aluminum foil. You can store honey garlic chicken in the freezer for up to three months, but make sure you use a freezer-safe container or plastic freezer bag.
If you don’t, then your chicken will take on any funky smells from the freezer, and it’ll affect the flavor.

About the Ingredients for Honey Garlic Chicken
Chicken – I used chicken thighs here because they finish at the right time for the potatoes to get cooked through without drying out.
Honey – Just honey. Any kind you like.
Soya sauce – You can also substitute with tamari or coconut aminos if desired.
Garlic – I always use more than 4 cloves but I love garlic. 4 is sufficient for normal people.
Vinegar – Rice wine vinegar is best but you can swap with whatever vinegar you have on hand. White vinegar is probably the closest substitute. You could also use lemon juice. The point is to balance out all the sweet and salt with a little acid.
Carrots, Brocolli – You could really substitute with any similar vegetables here and it would be tasty. I just think carrots and brocolli with the honey garlic marinade is amazing.
Potatoes – Baby potatoes are the best and easiest choice here, but you could also just chop a regular sized potato into smaller chunks. If you wanted to make this dish with boneless chicken breast you will need to dice the potatoes small enough to cook through in 18-20 minutes.
Oil – Any neutral flavoured oil will work here.
Sesame Seeds – They add a lovely crunch, highly recommend!

obsessed with this recipe, it’s so good
So delicious, especially the chicken. Followed the recipe exactly, except chopped up larger russet potatoes (it’s what we had on hand). Wanted to drink the sauce. Yum! Thanks for posting!
I made this for the first time tonight. It was delicious!
How do you get your sauce to stay so thick? The liquid from the chicken always makes mine runny. Great recipe though!
@Dia,
Same!!! Mines looks…. Sad.
I am sorry Teresa and Dia, I haven’t had that problem when I make this. I would transfer everything but the sauce to a serving dish, then pour the sauce into a saucepan and stir in a cornstarch slurry and heat that to boiling, stirring constantly. That should thicken it up for you!
Would I be able to use chicken breast instead?
Yes
Is it soy sauce or soya sauce?
Soya is just how us Canadians spelll Soy, it’s the same thing.
