Orange Glazed BBQ Chicken Drumsticks

Marinated and grilled in a scotch bonnet and orange glaze, these chicken drumsticks are perfectly sweet and spicy. This is one grilled chicken recipe you’ll be craving all summer long!

So somehow May is here.
Not sure when that happened, but April definitely breezed right by.
Of course that means summer will be here before we know it (and probably gone just as fast,) so it’s time to make the best of the warmer weather by pulling out the grill!

This recipe features a boldly citrus, sweet and spicy glaze slathered over grilled chicken drumsticks.
It has a satisfying zing that will have you reaching for more.

About the ingredients for Grilled Orange Chicken
Orange Juice – Use 100% from juice Orange juice. You want real orange flavour here.
Scotch bonnet Pepper – I usually seed the pepper to limit the heat to more of a zing. If you are looking for some serious heat then use the seeds.
Honey – The honey will balance out the orange and pepper plus help create the actual glaze.
Chicken – I used drumsticks but of course this glaze is fantastic on any cut of chicken. Just adjust your cooking time.
Seasoning – Just a little salt and pepper will do.

This sounds and looks delicious. I looked up what Scotch bonnet Peppers are as I’ve not heard that name before and I’d have to substitute with a normal pepper as I read that the Scotch bonnet Peppers pack a punch. 🙂
Yeah Habanero’s or any other hot pepper would work if you like heat. If you prefer no heat, leave it out! It’s actually not very spicy in the end since you cook them in the sauce without the seeds (which hold most of the heat). I found the glaze mellowed out quite a bit after being on the grill. They ended up being mild enough that my kids could eat them.
These look like an amazing summer meal to try soon!
This drumsticks look so delicious! I will have to give them a shot.
