Essence Cosmetics Fall-Winter Collection Review

essence

Fall is here and it’s time to dive right into seasonal colours and looks with earthy shades and rich hues from the new Fall/Winter essence cosmetics collection. Previously exclusive to Shoppers Drug Mart with a 2 ft beauty wall, essence is now also available at Loblaws with double the product, expanded colour ranges and exclusive collections!

I’m pretty excited about that as Loblaws is one of my favourite “mommy vacation” destinations. You know what I am talking about. You show up with your shopping list and spend the next 4 hours in child-free bliss with a coffee in hand while you slowly fill your cart up with groceries,  some fab new outfits from Joe Fresh, and restock your vanity with the latest cosmetics. Talk about a one-stop shop.

If you haven’t checked out essence cosmetics, I definitely recommend that you check them out on your next shopping trip to Loblaws. They have a fabulous collection of high quality products at stunningly affordable prices. Seriously. Most of the collection is made in Europe and are available in the $3 to $5 range.

Great news for those of you out there who are indecisive. Not sure which shade you prefer? Well now you can just go ahead and buy both… or just buy it all.

Longlasting Lipliner

The Fall/Winter collection from essence cosmetics include a lineup of longlasting lipliner in a variety of shades that allow you to easily and accurately trace the contours of your lips. The liners go on smooth and creamy but provide intense and long-lasting colour

BB Beauty Balm Lipgloss

This balm lipgloss offers intense colour, moisturisation and high shine without the stickiness typical of lipgloss. They are enriched with shea butter and vitamin E for soft and pampered feeling lips. They also smell pretty great too which is a nice bonus. My lips look and feel incredible when wearing these two lip glosses.

2in1 Lipstick and Liner

I’m honestly not very big on lipstick and usually choose fairly nude shades but I am obsessed with this ultra-pigmented formula. It is a 2 in 1 and does provide the benefits of a lipstick and lipliner in one easy to use product. You can use the pointed tip to outline your lips and fill in easily and quickly with the side of the stick. The texture is soft and very creamy and it glides on easily with a fairly matte finish.

Prettifying Lip Oil (I care for you, honey)

This is a lightweight lip treatment that applies easily with its easy to use applicator. With cooler weather comes dry lips and this is one product you will want to have on hand to smooth and soothe dry lips with just a hint of shine. It contains Jojoba Oil which ensures moisturised and smooth lips without any stickiness. I love how hydrated and nourished my lips feel after waking up in the morning when I’ve applied the oil the night before. This formula is truly fantastic!

Here you can see the lip products side by side, aren’t these shades just gorgeous?

The Velvets Eyeshadow

The formula is smooth and and velvety textured which goes on smoothly and can be easily blended.  This particular shade (almost peachy) is also almost my skin tone, just a bit lighter, and I found that it was easy enough to build up to a more intense colour or blended in for a nude look. I’ll definitely be checking out some of the darker colours as I love how beautifully this formula applies.

2in1 Eyeshadow and Liners

I think my favourite product from the fall/winter collection is the 2in1 Eyeshadow and Liners. They feature a tip that is just precise enough for lining but can be easily used for a sweep of creamy colour across the lid that can be easily blended.  light me up is perfect in the corner of the eyes for a brighter, more awake kind of look too. I love how long lasting this product is, it honestly stays put forever. I had to really scrub at the swatch with soap and water to remove it

essence-13

The Smokey Eye Pencil

This is the easiest way to create smokey eyes that I’ve come across. It applies smoothly and then blends out beautifully with the help of the integrated sponge applicator and then stays put throughout the day.

I love  Colour Intensifying eyeshadow Base

Using a base is a must if you want your eyeshadow to last. It also helps create a perfect canvas for more intense eyeshadow colour.

Liquid Ink Matt Eyeliner

I have to admit that I’ve been using liquid black eyeliner since forever as part of my everyday basic look. It is such a classic and timeless look and this eyeliner is perfection. It has an inky black matte finish that I simply adore. It is also really easy to use to create flawless lines across your lids because of the brush tip.

Here you can see the different finishes of each of the eye products including the effect eye pencil which creates a beautiful long-lasting metal finish that apply easily and the Smokey 2 in 1 khol liner which glides on smoothly as a liner and/or eyeshadow.

Forbidden Volume Mascara & Forbidden Volume Mascara Rebel

I wear mascara everyday as I have long lashes, but they are blonde and basically invisible without mascara and I seriously love these two mascaras. Forbidden Volume Mascara features a conic-shaped brush with a formula that really takes the volume of your lashes to a whole new level. The rebel formula creates an even more intensely voluminous look. It really gives my lashes that WOW! factor that I love.

Mosaic Blush

I almost didn’t want to test this blush out. Seriously, have you ever seen a prettier blush? It’s like a work of art.

essence-7

When I finally stopped staring at it I finally tested it out and instantly loved the natural looking rosy glow this beautiful blush created.  It features three colours that blend nicely for the perfect wind-swept look without having to go outside and face blustery winds.

Pure Nude Highlighter

I found this amazing highlighter that I loved in a sample kit but honest to goodness I could not bring myself to buy it full sized as much as I did love it.  Guys. This highlighter is even nicer and I would never feel shoppers remorse spending my hard earned money on it. It provides a gorgeous and subtle shimmer for a healthy natural looking glow. I love using it to highlight the top of my cheeks and down the bridge of my nose. If you love using a highlighter then you need to check out this formula, it is seriously incredible.

The Gel Nail Polish

The collection also includes a range of gel nail polish that provides the shiny look of gel nails without any of the hassle. The brush is absolutely perfect for sweeping across the entire nail at once and I’ve found that one application is enough to achieve even and full coverage. It is also long lasting and doesn’t peel off or chip easily.

keep it perfect! make-up fixing spray

Last but not least is essence keep it perfect! make-up fixing spray. I’ve been using a fixing spray for about a year now. It’s an essential part of my routine as I seem to be unable to stop touching my face constantly. This formula is light and transparent, it dries quickly to form a protective layer to ensure a longer-lasting finish without weighing down your skin.

Over all I am really impressed with essence cosmetics and their fall/winter collection and very excited to share these beauty products with you. I’d love to hear what you think, and what products you love the most from the essense cosmetics line so please share!

Remember, to take a look at the full essense cosmetics collection you will need to stop in at a Loblaws location near you.
