Ingredients:

½ C. butter, softened to room temperature
2 eggs
1 C. milk
1 tsp. white vinegar
1 ½ C. flour
1 C. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/3 C. cocoa powder

Other products needed:
Chocolate chips
Green M&M’s – check your local grocers bulk food section. I was able to find just green chocolate candies without having to buy a huge bag of M&M’s
Wilton black edible marker (located in the Wilton aisle at major retailers and craft stores)
Valentine sprinkle hearts (I turned them upside down for a nose). You could also use pumpkin sprinkles if you don’t have Valentine sprinkles lying around.
One container of chocolate frosting

Cupcake Directions:

#1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease 12ct. cupcake tin.

#2. In a medium bowl combine the ½ cup of softened butter, 2 eggs, milk, sugar and vinegar. Beat until smooth.

#3. In a separate bowl combine the flour, baking soda, salt and cocoa powder. Mix well and slowly fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients stirring until smooth and all lumps are gone.

#4. Pour the batter evenly into the cupcake tin and bake 19-21 minutes. Around 19 minutes insert a clean toothpick into the cupcakes and if it comes out clean they are done.

Allow the cupcakes to cool completely prior to decorating.

Kitty Directions:

#1. Using the Wilton edible marker, you are going to draw on the eye onto the back of 24 green chocolate candies to use as the kitty’s eyes.

#2. Next, generously frost each cupcake with chocolate frosting. Give each cupcake 2 green eyes and 2 ears using the chocolate chips. Finally, add the nose.

Repeat will all the cupcakes and voila, you have Halloween Kitties.

*Makes approximately 12 Kitty cupcakes. 1 cupcake = 1 serving.

  1. I’m sorry (not sorry) but this is my favourite Hallowe’en food recipe that I have seen so far this year. It is not scary, it is soooo cute! Pinned.
