Advent calendars date only as far back at the 19th century but they seem here to stay as a fun way to count down the days until Christmas. They were actually invented by German Lutherans but now people all over the world use them in anticipation of Christmas day.
Growing up we always had Chocolate Calendars filled with fun shaped but cheap chocolate hidden behind windows. I love the idea of counting down with a handmade Advent Calendar and love the idea of making one with my kids to enjoy. There are so many great ideas out there for fun handmade advent calendars. Why not cut out the chocolate and the expense but keep all the anticipation and joy?
With these tutorials you will never have to spend another penny on cheap chocolate advent calendars again! The only problem now is choosing which project to tackle and incorporate as a holiday tradition in your own home!
