I love cream cheese frosting, it’s not as sweet as buttercream but perfectly just creamy and satisfying instead.

How to pipe a creamy frosting:

This frosting tends to be a little hard to pipe because of it’s creaminess.

In order to get the frosting to perfectly hold its shape, simply refrigerate it for 20-30 minutes before piping.

Scoop your frosting into a piping bag fitted with a piping tip, then pop it in the fridge until its a little more stiff.

About Cream Cheese Frosting Ingredients

There are just four simple ingredients required to make this cupcake Frosting:

Butter – Use softened, salted butter.

Cream Cheese – You need to use full fat brick cream cheese at room temperature. Do not use spreadable cream cheese, it will results in runny frosting.

Powdered Sugar – Start with 2 cups and go from there. You can add more for a sweeter, thicker frosting.

Vanilla – I recommend using pure vanilla extract but artificial is cool too. We aren’t snobs here.
