_225_350_Book.987.coverI surely wish with all my heart, This day of Jesus’ birth, That peace and love and happiness Soon cover all the earth.

Mary Engelbreit rings in the holiday with a Christmas collection that includes many of her favorite carols, the story of Jesus’ birth, and beloved poems that touch the heart and celebrate the miracle of the season

This is a really beautiful Christmas book for children filled with beautiful and colourful illustrations by Mary Engelbreit.  The book contains the Christmas story from Luke, along with seasonal poems and Christmas hymns, such as “The First Noel,” and “Silent Night.”

The bright colours and detailed illustrations will capture the interest of even the shortest attention span. My daughter, who usually just wants to flip quickly through books, had a great time pointing at all the images and even allowed me to read and sing to her from the book.

The book itself is hard-cover with a gorgeously detailed jacket and 40 pages long.  It is geared towards kids 4-8 but honestly it is such a beautiful book I can see it becoming a memory maker and family keepsake to be read together every Christmas season.

Peace on Earth: A Christmas Collection is a wonderful addition to anyone’s Christmas library and is such a fun and entertaining way to introduce the Christmas story to readers of any age!

  1. I would love to add this to our collection of Christmas books. My little one spends a lot of time sitting and flipping thru her books, she’s a bookworm like her dad. And when anyone sits down and reads to her, she seems so focused….for a couple pages anyway lol.

Looks like a fun book 🙂

  2. Love the sounds of this book. I think it would a good one to add to our library for Christmas. Thanks for sharing a review of it!

  3. I adore this kind of illustration and also like the fact that it’s hard-cover, that means it should last longer when those pudgy little hands look through the pages. That it’s also a book about Christmas means that it can be brought out and read from for years.

  4. Our family is always looking for new Christmas books, but haven’t heard of this one yet. I love that it includes hymns too! Thanks!

  5. Thanks for the recommendation. I have been hunting down Christmas books so we can read one each night in December.
