Little Tikes Tobi Robot Smartwatch - Kids Smartwatch review

We were invited to review new the Little Tikes Tobi™ Robot Smartwatch; wearable technology for kids that combines the interactive features of a smartwatch with a cute robot packed with personality.

Suitable for children aged four and up, the Little Tikes Tobi™ Robot Smartwatch is available in both blue and pink. It has been designed to be durable, splash proof and a whole lot of fun.

Tobi not only helps kids learn to tell the time on the 50+ analog and digital watch faces, it also includes a variety of fun and interactive games and activities. It also includes the basics you’d expect to see in a smartwatch like a stopwatch, timer, an alarm clock, reminders, a calendar, and more.

Little Tikes Tobi™ Robot Smartwatch also has two cameras for taking selfies and videos with room for 3,000 photos or 30 minutes of video.

When you first power on Tobi he defaults to robot mode where it comes to life with a wide range of expressions and reactions.

Robot mode features moving arms and legs which pop out from the sides of the watch, to the great amusement of my girls. By playing Tobi’s learning games you can unlock more food to feed Tobi, customise his room and access more stickers to add to your photos.

The smartwatch comes with a variety of apps, from interactive dancing to an active augmented reality Search & Seek game. Also included is a variety of learning games. I love that Tobi really encourages active play rather than just sitting on the couch staring at a screen.

Kids can wear Tobi on their wrist using the adjustable watch band or attach it to their clothes using the clip. The clip also converts to a display stand when using as an alarm clock or recharging.

Included with Tobi is a handy watch stand and a built-in rechargeable battery with an included micro-USB cable for easy charging as well as for downloading photos and videos onto your home computer. With average use the battery seems to last a few days between charging, which is very nice.

Tobi is also able to pair wirelessly with other Tobi devices to send and receive voice or emoji messages as well as photos between known and nearby Tobi Smartwatches.

This was a feature we were unable to test as we only have the one Little Tikes Tobi™ Robot Smartwatch, however my kids loved the Tobi we received to review so much that I think there might be a second one under our tree this year.

I was actually a little surprised by how much my year old plays with Tobi, I thought it might be a little young for her but she is constantly playing with him.

Overall, Little Tikes Tobi™ Robot Smartwatch is a really great introductory smartwatch for kids and would recommend for anyone looking to gift kids wearable tech.

I got this watch for my son, but haven't even been able to get it to work. Did you have to download some programs and all that to get it to work? It hasn't even turned on, even after charging. I've spent the last 3 hours trying to update it so that it'll work, with no joy.

You have to press and hold the home button on the front of the Tobi for at least 5 seconds before it will turn on.
