Frozen Inspired: North Mountain Cupcakes
Keira, like most girls between the ages of zero and well.. letโs face it, probably 109 loves Frozen.ย I mean she can narrate the movie from start to finish.ย I know every single word to every single song.ย Itโs such a fun movie with an uplifting story that really empowers girls and women.ย ย ย Plus the songs are all pretty great.ย Well done Disney, well done.
I was walking around Michaels awhile ago and came across the Holiday baking section and went a little bit nuts.ย I ended up picking out some Wilton White Sparkling Sugar Sprinkles and Wilton Snowflake Sprinkles with the idea of making Frozen inspired treats for Keira and I to enjoy.ย My inspiration for these simple cupcakes is The North Mountain from Frozen.
ย
North Mountain Cupcakes
Ingredients:
12 Cupcakes, ready to ice, any flavour but white or lemon work best.
Vanilla Buttercream Icing
Piping Bag
Wilton Piping Tips, I prefer the 2D or the 1M but whatever you prefer
Wilton White Sparkling Sugar Sprinkles
Wilton Snowflake Sprinkles
ย
Directions:
Pipe the Cupcakes with the buttercream icing using the piping bag and tip of your choice.ย
For Beginners: Fit the piping bag with your pastry tip of choice and then fold down about 1/2 of the bag over the lower half to create a kind of โbowlโ.ย ย Hold the bag so that your hand is under the folded down part of the bag.and fill your bag with frosting. Use a spoon or spatula to fill the bag up to the fold packing down the icing a bit as you go.ย Bring the top half of the bag back up then twist the top tightly to prevent messes when you apply pressure to the bag.ย ย To get โperfectlyโ iced cupcakes, start in the middle of the cupcake and move out to the edge, circle around the cupcake and work back to the centre.ย When you are done, stop squeezing and just pull straight up to create a nice peak.ย I promise it is super easy once you get the hang of it.ย You might want to practice the technique a bit before doing it for real ifย youโve never iced cupcakes.ย Experiment with different tips to see what looks you are able to achieve!
Sprinkle Wilton White Sparkling Sugar Sprinkles all over the cupcakes.ย Go nuts with it.ย Then carefully place the Wilton Snowflake Sprinkles around the snowy peak of your mountains.
ta da!ย There you have beautifully snowy North Mountain cupcakes for you and your little Frozen fans to enjoy.
