Growing up my brother, sister and I would often sit down for a fun afternoon of board games. My brother is five years younger than me but one of our favourites when we first started playing together was Candy Land.
What makes Candy Land so special is that it is both fun and easy to play, requiring no reading aside from the rules and then only minimal counting skills which makes it perfect for the youngest players as well as older siblings or even parents.
Now you can get your Candy Land fix with a fun Disney twist with the Minnie Mouse’s Sweet Treats Edition! You can play as Minnie, Figaro or Daisy, as you journey through the path of treats on a mission to be the first to reach Minnie’s Sweet Shop!
Game play is pretty familiar and just as fun as I remembered.
Keira was so thrilled when she saw the box with Minnie Mouse on it. She couldn’t wait for me to open the box to take the game pieces out. She grew even more excited at the prospect of playing a game with her Grandma and Auntie.
The spinner is on a cute mouse shaped cardboard base, and you will find Minnie Mouse themed illustrations throughout the game board which makes this edition just a little extra sweet.
Keira isn’t quite 3 yet and the game is meant for children 3 and up so she struggled to focus on the game but did have a lot of fun moving Minnie around the board and spinning the spinner. With a little more age, she will have the attention span needed to sit down for a full game. For now she is pretty content to play at it for ten minutes or so before moving on to using her imagination to play with the figurines. I love that Minnie, Daisy and Figero are all sturdy pieces which means playing with them outside the real of Candy Lane is not an issue.
The game is meant for 2-3 players since it comes with just 3 figurines.

Kids will love this game. I like the fact that it's easy for younger children too, that means they can play too and not get grumpy because they can't. :-)
