Children’s Activity Atlas by Jenny Slater
Young explorers: grab your ticket to a world of fun! Featuring 12 fully illustrated maps, this atlas is jam-packed with information about the different continents and each regionโs wildlife, food, architecture, and culture. The journey continues with more than 250 reusable stickers, eight perforated postcards, and a pocket-size passport with quizzes and cool facts. Curious kids will dream about their adventures to come.
As they set forth on an expedition to each region of the world, young readers will learn a number of interesting facts pertaining to the different locations along the way, such as:
- ย ย ย ย ย The Colosseum in Rome is the worldโs largest amphitheater
- ย ย ย ย ย Angel Falls is over 3,000 feet tall and is the worldโs largest waterfall
- ย ย ย ย ย Adult kangaroos can leap 30 feet in a single jump.
- ย ย ย ย ย Brazil produces more coffee than any other country in the world.
Childrenโs Activity Atlas is perfect for parents looking to get their kids excited about an upcoming trip (and keep them occupied while theyโre packing), teachers planning a lesson about the different continents and countries, and children looking to continue their summer travels after school has resumed. This fun and engaging activity book would also make an ideal addition to a piece on family travel, even if just as a tool for keeping children busy while on the plane or in the car, or a list of new and upcoming travel books for young readers or educators.
ย This interactive Atlas is a fun way for kids to learn about the world around them as well as a good introduction to reading maps.ย I am always shocked at the number of people I meet who cannot read a road map.ย Seriously, without exaggeration, Iโve had adults tell me they cannot read a map to the point where Iโve had to pull off the road to read a map myself.ย ย This is an important skill and one I will be sure my girls have.ย
Beyond that the Atlas has a lot of fun features such as the postcards which are mostly filled out but require your child to fill in the blanks with information they have learned in the atlas.ย To drive all the information in the Atlas home, there is also a โpassportโ included which contains quizzes based on the information in the matching pages of the Atlas itself.
Win it:
One American Frugal Mom Eh reader will win their own copy of Childrenโs Activity Atlas!ย Giveaway is open to residents of the USA only, and ends on August 24th at 11:59 pm EST.ย See Giveaway Tools form for entry and T&C.
