7 Must-See Attractions in California
California is the home of many sights and attractions that you can’t miss! Because of this, any trip to California is sure to be a busy one! Not sure what to add to your travel itinerary while in this beautiful state? Here are a few must-see attractions you need to visit while in California.
7 Must-See Attractions in California
Disneyland
If you’re visiting California, make sure you plan a trip to Disneyland while you’re there! Disneyland is definitely a magical place for everyone in the family, from young to old. This makes Disneyland an ideal attraction to see when in California!
The San Diego Zoo is another attraction that’s perfect for the entire family. When visiting the San Diego Zoo, you’ll get the chance to see all of your favourite animals. This includes pandas, leopards, giraffes, and more!
There are many natural wonders in California that you have to see, including the sights at Sequoia National Park. Not only can you wander trails and appreciate nature at this national park, you can also visit Crystal Cave or even go rock climbing. With all of this and more, Sequoia National Park should be on your California travel itinerary.
Another great attraction you have to visit while in California is the Golden Gate Bridge. This popular Californian landmark is famous for its unique, red look. If you want to get a close look at the Golden Gate Bridge, you can book a ferry ride that takes you around the bridge.
After visiting the Golden Gate Bridge, don’t forget to swing by Alcatraz. This famous island used to be the home of the infamous and deadly Alcatraz penitentiary. Now that it’s been transformed into a museum, you can walk around and experience history for yourself.
This national park is known for its inhospitable terrain and unique biosphere which has been transformed by extreme heat. Don’t let the heat stop you though, the unique landscape, plants and animals, including bighorn sheep and coyotes make this an experience worth taking in. Visitors are able to drive through the park and stop at various lookouts, hike short trails and more.
Of course there are more than just these attractions worth stopping in for. Travelling alone or as a couple without children? Napa Valley is a popular attraction with over 200 wineries open to tourists for tastings and tours. There are also a number of National Parks with unique landscapes worth visiting including Redwood National Park, Yosemite National Park. Lake Tahoe and Big Sur are also areas that are popular with tourists and for good reason.

Sequoia National Park…..one day…..
Love your list. Golden Gate Bridge is my top fave. And Beaches. Endless variety. Every time we go we discover new ones.
I’ve been to all of these except San Diego Zoo, which is surprising really since we had the kids with us.
I’d combine Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island, just call it San Francisco Bay.
use the spot you cleared up to include Yosemite, which im surprised didn’t make it at all, it would be my number two thing to see after Disneyland, but i’m bias towards Disney
These are all great places to visit! I’d love to take my grandsons to the San Diego Zoo!
Love the photos of Alcatraz and Death Valley. It is so cool that the penitentiary become a museum to preserve history, and that the Death Valley park is protected and respected for its interesting environmental features, despite it being inhabitable. – Emme @ Green Global Travel
You HAVE to include Yosemite! It’s still, IMO, just about the greatest place on earth. And I’ve spent years in Europe. Disney and Universal can’t compare. Ugh, theme parks – waiting in lines, screaming kids, and talk about overpriced! Look, I get it some people love it, but how can you not include Yosemite. Just on another level. Best part of Cali, or perhaps Big Sur, wandering up the 101 – the beauty of nature is beyond compare. Can’t miss it.
To be honest, Yosemite was only mentioned vs being part of the list because I’ve included it in two other lists this year and it felt repetitive. I’ve been thinking about doing a “7 More …” type post though to include the ones that didn’t get into this list. I just have a thing for the number 7. 😉
hey loved your list, i always wanted to go to the universal studios. and great way of presentation by the way.
I have always wanted to go see the Golden Gate Bridge !
I would love to go to the San Diego Zoo,it must be a wonderful place to visit!
I love your list of beautiful places to visit in California.I have some family living there and would enjoy going to visit some of these places when I go there.
