We moved to a larger house in May to a different part of our city. Since then I have slowly been working on creating a beautiful front room and put our old furniture in the rec room. The hardest part in this process has been to find artwork that I like for my walls, especially in the front room which I am essentially doing from scratch.
When I was invited to be one of a select few Canadian bloggers to take part in the #12PrintsProject I knew it could be part of the solution to my problem.
This month I decided to tackle a statement piece for the empty wall right above my couch.
After that snow storm a few weeks ago I decided to go down by our old house where there is a beautiful trail system knowing I would be able to get some pretty great shots. I did end up getting some nice shots but once I got home and looked through the 400+ photos I had taken, this one immediately stood out!
There is just something about that bench!
I desaturated the image slightly to make it less brown but not quite black and white. It looks better with that hint of warmth to it from the brown than it did when I did it in black and white.
I decided to go with a Barnwood Frame from Posterjack for this one. I haven’t ordered a barnwood frame print from them yet so I wasn’t completely sure what to expect.
No two frames are alike! The natural wood grain and unique imperfections of each Barnwood Frame will really contribute to that one-of-a-kind look everyone wants from their art. Perfect for both an elegant or casual setting, the handcrafted quality will catch your eye no matter where you hang it.
The Barnwood frames come in soft grey, charcoal black, and rustic brown. I went with charcoal black to help make the bench really stand out and because the other frames in the room are black too.
Every Barnwood Frame comes with an expertly-installed picture wire, which makes it super easy to hang!
I really couldn’t be any happier and looking forward to creating more custom art for my walls!
