The Cozy Reader Club box is a brand new monthly book subscription box that sends you everything you need for some quality “me” time. Each box includes a recently released women’s fiction novel, artisanal coffee, tea (or hot chocolate), handmade items and gourmet treats. Sounds relaxing, doesn’t it?
Each box is carefully curated to give you a uniquely cozy reading experience delivered right to your door! It gives you the opportunity to read a new book without having to search for yourself as well as the chance to become acquainted with high quality artisan products. Plus, since only recently released books are included you do not need to worry about getting a double.
So let’s take a look at what is in the first (February) Box!
The Girl in the Red Coat by Kate Hamer Retail Value $25.95 USD
Newly single mom Beth has one constant, gnawing worry: that her dreamy eight-year-old daughter, Carmel, who has a tendency to wander off, will one day go missing.
And then one day, it happens: On a Saturday morning thick with fog, Beth takes Carmel to a local outdoor festival, they get separated in the crowd, and Carmel is gone.
Shattered, Beth sets herself on the grim and lonely mission to find her daughter, keeping on relentlessly even as the authorities tell her that Carmel may be gone for good.
Carmel, meanwhile, is on a strange and harrowing journey of her own—to a totally unexpected place that requires her to live by her wits, while trying desperately to keep in her head, at all times, a vision of her mother …
Alternating between Beth’s story and Carmel’s, and written in gripping prose that won’t let go, The Girl in the Red Coat—like Emma Donoghue’s Room and M. L. Stedman’s The Light Between Oceans—is an utterly immersive story that’s impossible to put down . . . and impossible to forget.
Dragonfly Bookmark (Retail Value $8 USD)
Antique silvertone bookmark with hand wire wrapped red Swarovski crystals and a cute crystal dragonfly dangling from a chain, from Etsy shop PNL Jewelry Designs.
This is such a gorgeous and unique bookmark, and I love that the red crystals match the cover.
The Perfect Scarf™ (Retail Value $28 USD)
A beautiful custom dyed emerald infinity scarf with 3 round buttons from Etsy shop Northernly. This scarf is so soft and pretty – it’s also large and incredibly cozy!
Nossa Familia Coffee (Approx. Retail Value $9 USD)
8 oz. bag of Ernesto’s House Blend whole bean coffee. A well-balanced medium roast, exhibiting sweet, fruity, and floral aspects with a honeyed, toffee-like quality. Roasted in Portland, Oregon. (It’s amazing!)
Missionary Chocolates (Retail Value $6 USD)
Gluten free and vegan handcrafted chocolate truffles in Simply Espresso and Vanilla Salted Caramel. These truffles are incredibly good, and I love that they are vegan too!
The value of the box is about $76.95 USD which is pretty great value with the cost of the subscription ($64.95), especially when combined with the discount code. (See below.) Yes. It is expensive, especially for Canadians with the exchange and the added cost of shipping (which is free for American addresses). While the higher cost might be a barrier for some, I do think it’s still great value for a special treat, especially for those, like me, who enjoy discovering new authors and unique, artisan products.
I can’t wait to see what is included in the March subscription box!
