One of my favourite places to visit is Niagara Falls, Ontario.  I love all the attractions available, it is the ultimate family friendly tourist area.  Even if your family is as young as mine.

I actually live fairly close to Niagara Falls, and a day trip is more than easily done but it is nice to stay over night or for a few nights in order to visit attractions at our own pace.  This past weekend my sister and I took Keira and Ava for two fun days in Niagara Falls and stayed overnight at the newly renovated Courtyard by Marriott

The Courtyard by Marriott Hotel is just minutes from The Falls, Clifton Hill and other attractions like The Bird Kingdom.  Even more attractions,  such as the Butterfly Conservatory and the Niagara Whirlpool,  are just a short drive away.

It really is right in the middle of things and yet it has a large on-site parking lot with convenient spots at the front door reserved for registration.  I don’t know about you, but I really appreciate having an easy parking solution.  I just get stressed out when I have to “find parking”.

Registration was super quick with no line-ups when we arrived and I found the front desk staff were quick, friendly and courteous.

The Hotel offers rooms for groups of different sizes and our family suite was just right for us with a living room including tv and and a sofa bed and an adjoining bedroom with two Queen sized beds, desk, another tv, and a bathroom complete with tub and shower.  We had plenty of room for the complimentary crib for Ava to sleep in and to spare for Keira to run around.

The coffee maker, mini fridge, and complimentary wifi access made the suite feel a bit more like “at home”.  The rooms also feature a safe, iron, ironing board, and other amenities.

Overall I thought the suite was clean, comfortable and modern looking.

The Courtyard by Marriott Niagara Falls also offers an Indoor and outdoor pool with waterslide and sundeck along with whirlpool and sauna, a 24-hour fitness centre and games room plus a 24/7 Market.

We all enjoyed the view from our room was well, with its view of Niagara Falls downtown, Clifton Hill and Niagara Falls, NY.  It is perfect for people watching if you are looking for a little quiet time.

After getting our belongings sorted out we headed down for dinner at The Keg, located just off the Hotel’s lobby.  I wasn’t sure how dinner at The Keg would go with a two year old and a baby but I was pleasantly surprised by the very friendly wait staff and the Childrens menu.

My sister and I decided to indulge a bit, although this was easily done thanks to the $40 voucher to the Keg included in our package. We started off with a shared bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and a delicious baked Brie.  Keira enjoyed her own fruit and vegetable platter to start.  Keira ordered a BBQ Chicken with Vegetables while my sister and I both ordered a Top Sirloin.  We were absolutely in heaven.

After a long day in Niagara Falls it was time for bed.  The crib was already setup for us and Ava was more than ready to go to bed.  Getting Keira to bed was a little bit tricky since she is at that stage where everything new is just a little bit scary.  With a little assurance from Auntie though, she was asleep and we soon joined her.

We all had a wonderful sleep aside from a short while around midnight when Keira decided she wanted to watch cars at the window.  Thank goodness she is also at that stage where she believes things like “the cars are going to sleep now, so you should too!  Say goodnight to the cars.”

Come morning we headed back to The Keg for the Buffet Breakfast.  The Buffet included an Omelette station, waffles with preserves and whipped cream, bacon, sausage, hash brown, scrambled eggs in addition to the kind of fare typical of the continental breakfast.  The hot coffee was also well received as was the friendliness of our waitress.  It is so nice to be surrounded by staff who so obviously enjoy what they do.

Then it was time for a speedy checkout before heading out to a few more attractions before hitting the road to go home.

If you are ready for a family adventure in Niagara Falls, be sure to check out the packages available for vactions at the Courtyard by Marriott starting at only $115 per night including accommodation, buffet breakfast, dinner voucher, shuttle passes and complimentary wifi.  The packages are really great value, and as mentioned, the hotel is right in the middle of everything and just a short walk from the Falls.

We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay again at the Courtyard by Marriott.

It sounds like you had a great time! I appreciate extra room for my toddler to run around in the hotel room as well.

$115 for that package sounds like a great deal! The breakfast definitely sounds better than is typical of a continental breakfast.

Your room looks super cozy. That buffet sounds fantastic. And I'm a sucker for a room with a fridge (must have for travel with kids, right?).
