This pizza meatloaf is fun and flavourful – ground beef is combined with all of your favourite pizza toppings for a kid friendly meal.
My kids absolutely adore this pizza meatloaf, and it is often requested in our home.
I typically let the kids help top the meatloaf with their choice of toppings and we like to go super generous! It’s a really great option to try with any picky eater who insists they don’t like meatloaf.
About the Pizza Meatloaf Ingredients:
Beef – I used extra lean ground beef, lean would work ok but I wouldn’t go fattier than that. Turkey or ground chicken works great too.
Breadcrumbs – Use Italian seasoned plain old breadcrumbs. Alternatively you can use plain breadcrumbs and add Italian seasoning.
Onion – Half a medium yellow onion, diced small.
Eggs – The eggs help bind the meatloaf together so it can keep its form.
Pizza Sauce – This replaces the usual ketchup found in most meatloaf recipes and helps to deliver more of a pizza flavour.
Garlic – I used garlic powder just because it is easier to evenly combine through the meat mixture and nobody ends up with a fork full of garlic. You can definitely used minced garlic if you prefer to use fresh.
