Paper Weave Bumble Bee

Supplies:
Cardstock
Gluestick
Scissors
Black Marker

Printable Template

(you can cut the strips by hand but a paper cutter REALLY helps)

Instructions:
Download the bee template and print out.
Cut the template out.

Trace the bee onto yellow cardstock. Cut the bee out.
Trace the wings and eyes onto white cardstock and cut out.

Trace the centre of the eye and antennae onto black cardstock and cut out.
Cut a thin triangle from black cardstock.
Fold the abdomen of the bee in half and cut stripes into the cardstock. Be careful not to cut too close to the edge to avoid tearing.

Cut strips of black cardstock.

Weave the strips in and out of the cuts in the bee.

Glue the edges of the paper strips to keep them from moving out of place.

Cut off excess paper around the bee.

Glue the wings onto the back of the bee.

Glue the head onto the bee’s abdomen.

Glue the stinger onto the bottom of the bee, the antenna on top of the bee’s head and the eyes onto the bee’s face.

Use a black marker to draw a smile on the bee’s face.
