Colour blocking is one of my favourite trends from the current decade.  I love the bright and bold look and I think it works so well when decorating Easter eggs!

You want to start off a vibrantly coloured base and then build on that with simple shapes and contrasting colours to create an Easter egg that really pops!

Instructions:

In a 12 oz glass mix together 1 tbsp vinegar with 3/4 cup water and food colouring to achieve your desired shade.  (See below for a handy guide to achieve the same brilliant colours I did using regular food colouring)

Use a spoon or tongs to gently place egg in the glass being sure that the egg is completely submerged.

Leave submerged for 10 minutes or so depending on how deep you want the colour.

Remove eggs from the dye mixture and allow to completely dry before proceeding.

Carefully paint out a simple shape on the egg with the modge podge and then roll in coloured glitter to create a block of colour.

Repeat until your egg is covered in contrasting blocks.

Allow to try standing up.  Retaining the egg carton is helpful for this.

Once dry use the black sharpie to outline the blocks.  Hopefully your hands are steadier than mine!

Display & Enjoy!
