Disney fans in the know, love visiting Disney World in the Fall more than any other season for many reasons. What is it about the fall months makes it so special? Well, I am specifically going to tell you what I love about the Magic Kingdom as that is where we visit most often but each park has it’s own vibe.
Cooler Weather
Florida is hot, I mean steamy, unbearably hot about ¾ of the year. If you have never been before, and even with warnings you might not believe it but I am here to tell you that April- October in Florida is HOT. Late fall through winter though there is beautiful with moderate temps that make it a great place to be. In my opinion THIS is when you want to be enjoying the Magic Kingdom.
Less Crowds
Traditionally, this time of year is when the crowds are way down and you will not be fighting for sidewalk space. Lines are shorter, stores are less busy, and also…Disney Resorts will drop prices considerably during this off season decline. Save money and frustration by visiting in the fall when you will get the chance to use your time more effectively.
Fall Decor
In the fall, everywhere you look you will see beautiful orange, red, and golden decorations. You will find fantastic oversized pumpkins among the landscaping, swags of fall leaves and bunting hanging off of every building on main street, Mickey pumpkins on the lightposts, and scarecrows as only Disney can do them in the main courtyard.
Normally, Florida with it’s year round heat, skips right by the colour changes of fall but Disney makes sure when you visit you will be treated to it in grand style.
Treats
Their famous candied apples get a fall makeover with Minnie Witch designs, fall leaf sprinkles, and other unique decorations. You can enjoy fall speciality drinks in Starbucks (located in the bakery) like pumpkin spice -I still recommend ordering it iced. The cooler weather also makes eating traditional treats such as the giant turkey legs or the warm mac n’cheese topped with pot roast, a must have!
Entertainment
The return of Mickey’s Not so Scary Halloween Party in the fall is a great after-hours addition to the Magic Kingdom. This nighttime fun has trick or treating, a Happy HalloWishes fireworks show, and Mickey’s Boo to You Parade.
Outside of the Magic Kingdom in the fall, you might also want to visit Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival.
Adorable fall fashion & accessories
On my last fall visit I noticed that the stores and merchandise carts were loaded up with fun Halloween themed Mickey ears, hats, shirts, collectibles, and more. These items are a great souvenir to mark your fall visit and may even be incorporated into Halloween Costumes or worn if you are staying for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.
Any-time you go to any of the Disney parks it is a magical experience, but know you why Magic Kingdom in the fall is the place to be.

We just recently did Disneyland in the fall and loved it. Until they we had usually gone at Christmastime - now we're having a hard time deciding which season we like best! Some day I hope to check out Disney World also
