Keira demanded a Paw Patrol birthday cake for her 4th birthday party. I wanted something easy that would come out looking amazing and stumbled upon a cake idea but no tutorial anywhere. I tweaked the idea a little, photographed my way through it and decided to share it with other parents wanting to tackle a Paw Patrol Birthday Cake for themselves.

  1. You have made this delightful and delicious cake so easy to put together and the birthday child and his/her friends will not soon forget it. Thank you so much for ‘walking us’ through the whole procedure. Any lucky child, who has this cake for his/her birthday, will not soon forget it.

  2. Thanks for sharing this wonderful cake! I will attempt to make it in September for my 3 year old Paw Patrol party! Where can I find the chocolate buttercream recipe?

  3. I’d like to make this but if I use two 8 inch round cake pans and put them together-the KitKat bars are much shorter than they appear in your post. What did you do?

    1. Nothing, lol you need to split the cake mix between two 8 inch round cake pans. If you are doing a full cake recipe per pan that might be your problem. I don’t think there are different size Kit Kat sticks as far as their length.

  4. I see why some people may be confused. Its not really explained that you use 1 box of cake mix and equally divide it between two 9 inch cake pans. If you were to use two boxes the cake would be to tall for the kit Kat bars.

  5. If I were to make this cake the day before, do you think the KitKats would get soggy in the buttercream overnight? Should I add them on the day of?

    1. They don’t get soggy. Just store somewhere cool. We had ours for about 3 days before we finished off the cake and it was fine right to the last.

I just made this for my granddaughter’s 4th birthday, and it turned out beautifully! I loved that you showed step by step with both printed and photo instructions. If I knew how to, I’d attach a photo of it.

  8. I made this for my son’s birthday but used Zuma and rubble because zuma was his favorite. I put zuma on top and made the top look like water with clear gel frosting with blue dye. It turned out awesome! The kids were all wide-eyed when they saw it and couldn’t wait to try the candy rocks. So fun! Thanks for the ideas!
