What Is a Sith Warrior?
What makes Sith lightsabers red? How does a Sith choose an apprentice? Whose side are the Sith on in the Clone Wars? In this interactive guide, readers will discover answers to these questions, along with more about the sinister Darth Maul and other terrifying creatures from the dark side.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Who Are the Jedi?
Step into the exciting world of the Clone Wars! With dynamic interactive text and an exciting new design, DK’s Star Wars series brings the world of the Clone Wars alive in a new way for young readers. Now parents and teachers can promote reading with books kids want to pick up — and won’t want to put down!
Who Are the Jedi?
How can you become a Jedi? What are the Force and the Jedi Council? What color lightsabers do Jedi carry? Young fans will explore these questions and more in this exciting guide to the secrets of the brave and powerful Jedi, following them on their death-defying missions, battles, duels, and adventures.
Each of the above books is structured well for young readers (Ages 7 & up) – each two page spread asks a single question such as “What is the Craziest Jedi Escape?” which is then answered in easily manageable short blocks of text including some trivia.
These two titles are great for getting young fans of The Clone Wars TV show into reading and also work as good companion books to the series.
Star Wars: Mysteries of the Jedi
Mysteries of the Jedi is a dynamic visual guide that brings the Star Wars galaxy to life for a new generation of Star Wars fans. In it, younger readers will meet all the Jedi heroes from Anakin to Yoda, understand what it takes to become a Jedi, find out how to wield a lightsaber, discover the secrets of the Force, examine the tools of the Jedi trade, and more!
Lively test and bold, kid-friendly design provide a new approach to the much-loved characters and themes of the Classic and Prequel Trilogies. Mysteries of the Jedi uncovers the mysteries of the Jedi Order, the Force, and the dark powers that threaten them, for children aged 7 and up.
This title is similarly structured as the Clone Wars books although not every two page spread is devoted to answering a question. Instead some of the book also presents facts about various Jedi heroes, outlines how to make a lightsaber, Jedi training steps and so much more. It is filled with plenty of pictures and written for budding Star Wars fans. Think of this as the Jedi bible for kids.
Star Wars: Battles for the Galaxy
Star Wars is presented in a new dynamic and fun way that young readers are sure to love! This new book presents classic Star Wars events in a way they have never been seen before. Find out how clone troopers evolved into Darth Vader’s stormtroopers and how the ARC170 influenced the Xwing. Bold text and captivating imagery makes Star Wars: Battles for the Galaxy a must have for your young Star Wars fan.
This is a great play by play book geared towards kids 7 and up that starts at the beginning of the prequel trilogy leading right up to the events that took place in the final movie. It chronicles the battles including general information on what sparked the battle and how it ended.
I enjoyed that there was even background given on the players in each battle as well as lots and lots of pictures. This book even details the evolution of the Storm-trooper. My favourite part of the book though is the two page spread detailing the Ewoks, my favourite species in the entire series. They are just so darn cute, especially that Wicket!
