Introducing a collection of Canadian made, all natural Baby products from Boo Bamboo  containing certified organic bamboo extracts that soothe and moisturize even the most sensitive of skin.  Eco-conscious moms with “green babies” will love this line for utilising not only all natural ingredients but for being Eco-friendly and cruelty free.  For those with a history of Gluten allergies they are also all Gluten-Free!

Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants on each which makes it a wonderfully sustainable and renewable resource.  Bamboo extract is also a rich source of silica which is an essential nutrient that plays a key role in skin and hair health.

Baby Boo Bamboo

The Boo Bamboo Baby collection is also free of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Parabens, Pthalates, Sulphates, Synthetic Dyes and fragances, Formaldehyde, petrochemicals and common allergens.  You can also rest easy knowing they are all cruelty free and vegan as well.   Green babies rejoice!

I was sent some of Boo Bamboo’s product line to review including the Boo Bamboo Baby collection: Squeaky Clean Baby Wash, Silky Smooth Baby Lotion and Happy Baby Soothing Diaper Cream.

What I love about these products is that they are not afraid to share the ingredients on their website or on the products themselves.  Some of them I didn’t know so checked myself to see if they were indeed all natural.  For example, Sodium Lauryl Glucose Carboxylate is one of the main ingredients in the Squeaky Clean Baby Wash and with a little research I found that it is a foaming agent that replaces SLS and is derived naturally from Corn and Coconut!

Squeaky Clean Baby Wash

“The Squeaky Clean Baby Wash is a tear-free, Sulphate Free, cleanser derived from sugar and infused with Organic Bamboo Extract. Safely and gently washes while moisturizing from head-to-toe using the highest quality, natural and organic ingredients. Perfectly pH balanced to cleanse without stripping natural oils, even for the most sensitive newborn skin. Gentle enough to use daily. No synthetic fragrances or colours.”

Since Keira is heavily in the oral stage and puts everything she can get her hands on into her mouth.  Often the only way we can get through bath-time is if she has a cloth or bath book in hand to chew on.  It is reassuring to know that when I am bathing her she isn’t ingesting a product full of harmful ingredients.

Silky Smooth Baby Lotion

After washing up of course it’s time to lotion her skin, this is especially important with Keira because she has mild eczema and also being of mixed race and darker skinned she gets ashy looking quickly.   What I love about both the Silky Smooth Baby Lotion and the Squeaky Clean Baby Wash is the soft scent.  It is actually delicious smelling, and makes me want to eat her all up!  It smells close to that naturally yummy baby scent and I love that both product achieves this with natural ingredients.

“Silky Smooth Baby Lotion drenches skin with Bamboo Extract, Aloe Vera and organic proteins, leaving baby soft and moisturized. Silica content in Bamboo Extract naturally soothes dry irritated skin helping babies, toddlers and any family members who suffer from extreme skin conditions such as eczema.  All natural formula leaves your baby’s skin nourished and protected. No synthetic fragrances or colours.”

This lotion does such a great job of keeping her moisturised I love it!   Previously we were using two separate lotions.  One non-scented (Ok I think we all know I mean really icky scented) for her face and the areas most affected by eczema and then a regular baby lotion for her arms and legs so she would smell a little bit nice.  Since this lotion is all natural I am not afraid of using it on her face so we are down to one lotion!

Happy Baby Soothing Diaper Cream

Last and not least in this collection is the Happy Baby Soothing Diaper Cream.

“Happy Baby Soothing Diaper Cream is formulated to help reduce the soreness and severity of diaper rash. This diaper rash cream is formulated with Organic Bamboo Extract and Aloe Vera. Helps block the tender area against further irritation while its natural ingredients cool and soothe your baby’s skin. No added colour or fragrance.”

We actually received this just in time.  We have over 10 different diaper creams for use with disposable diapers when she gets a rash – which has been pretty often since starting daycare.  (Ugh a story for another day.)  Anyway, she recently developed a really painful rash that has been causing her to cry and most of the other diaper creams weren’t sticking to it.  As soon as I received this collection we applied it to her sore little bum and literally the second we applied it she went from screaming to giggling.

It gave her instant relief from the soreness and within a few days of constant application the rash was gone.

I also received products from their adult hair care line which are also contain natural and organic ingredients. These products are also Paraben free, DEA Free, Cruelty Free & Vegan and Fabulous!  I’ve really enjoyed using all the products from the Boo Bamboo collection and definitely recommend them as a great alternative.

Buy them:  Available in Canada at Walmart, London Drugs, and select Pharmasave locations.  Also available in the USA at DuaneReade and ShopRite.

Boo Bamboo is also available online at BooBamboo.com, Well.ca, KiwiShopOnline.com, LuckyVitamin.com, and BabyOganicJoy.ca.
