My kids love saving every single empty toilet paper tube for crafts and if your kids are like mine, you might find yourself with 50 of these things stored carefully away in a craft box. Well. You are welcome. This project will definitely eat through your prized collection of toilet paper rolls.

If you still have some left over you might want to try your hand at other fun upcycle projects featuring toilet paper rolls such as these adorable toilet paper tube Snowmen.

Portable Garage with Mini Race Track

Materials:

Tab Locking Mailer Box (17”L x 11”W x 4”H)
54 Empty Paper Rolls (You can also cut paper towel rolls to size)
Construction Paper of your choice (we chose black for our pavement. But don’t be scared to let your child design something unconventional)
Large Black Marker
Duct Tape
Scissors
Glue Gun (and Glue)

Instructions:

-Plug in your glue gun (turn it on if it has an on/off switch)

-Using duct tape decorate your box. Our box was green and we chose to simply cover up any logos with tape.

-Measure out and cut your black construction paper, then glue it accordingly on the box lid to assemble your mini race track pavement.

-Place strips of duct tape over your pavement to differentiate race lanes.

-Using your permanent marker make dashes to indicate lane separators.

-Identify the finish line with a giant “FINISH” in permanent marker.

-Glue each paper roll into their designated area.

-Lastly, using your large black marker write “GARAGE” on the top flap. Or perhaps you’d like to write your child’s name (i.e. “Jacob’s Garage” or “Sarah’s Garage”)

Your garage is now ready to receive vehicles!
